Mower smoking. I need to look like I know what I'm doing!

Put your compression test gauge on it and cold crank it, s/b north of 110 if rings still good

Someone better check on Steve &. He hasn't commented on this thread since Sunday. Hopefully he hasn't taken the gas pipe from his smoking mower running in his garage.

My mower the rubber seal for the gas cap disintegrated and clogged the carburetor float allowing the fuel to flow into the oil pan. Tired of working on it and the 20 safety sensors to protect me from self inflicted harm through idiot law suits. Bought a electric rider 4 years ago and am very happy.

The maintenance guy texted me becuase he knows I'm a car guy. Our company's riding mower is blowing smoke real bad. I know this means it's burning oil (I think.) So he wants me to take a look. I figured bad rings or a scored cylinder but... Any 4 stroke small engine guys out there that can make me look good? Is the some engine restore additive that can fix it? I dunno you tell me.

Probably what pisses me off the most... he never comes back. That and the constant questions that belong on his personal Facebook page....

Well I'd like to help since I work on these things but I guess that ain't happening. Don't even know what it is
