Any one hook up this combo? a MSD 6AL with a mech advance distributor stock starter and new alternator. In the MSD instructions I thought I read to bypass the ballast resistor?

In the diagram I think I should be using there is no resistor shown and no notes for it.

In the front of the instructions it says to maybe get a dual ballast resistor if I had stock tach?

Anyone hook this up before? I have all the wiring diagrams just not sure what to do with the ballast res. keep it or bypass it?

Looks like it doesn't matter since the MSD only needs the small trigger from the old coil side of the ballast.

Follow up: for future users.

Bypassed it and everything works fine.

On a side note, the original alternator used an internal ground, a new one from 440source will need a ground wire to the terminal FYI.
