1967 Plymouth GTX 440 cu.in.When installing MSD box along with MSD distributor,should the ballest resister be removed and run 12volts direct to coil? Thanks Charlie
 
Yes you need to loose the ballest as the 12v is to the box now.

I though so ,but coming out of the resisters 8 volt side wire to distributor is a 2nd brown wire feeding back into the cars main wire harness at fire wall ,to feed something under the dash.Any idea what it serves. Thanks Charlie
 
Jumper the old ballast wires together. I am doing the same now and it works fine.

Cut and spilised 12v wire to resister to coil,investigated brown wire from 8v side of resister back into fire wall into ign. switch.It gives 12v to points distributer for initial start from solinoid side to starter. Thanks
