Stepped on the high beam switch and the left turn signal illuminated twice as bright as the turn signal itself and the gas gauge went to full! lol what in tarnation is going on here?

Check the printed circut board on the back side of your cluster and make sure nothing is bridging the gap between the copper runs running to the turn signal indicator light and high beam indicator light. Also check the pins that are soldered on to the circut board (in a circle shape-center of board), that the main cluster harness plugs into. You can take out the printed circut board without removing the cluster or dash, but is kind of a pain. I'd look for loose/broken pins and/or corrosion around that main cluster harness plugs in to. Be gentle pulling the harness off the pins. They commonly like to break off or come loose without touching them. I'd also check all the wires coming up to the plug at the end of the harness. Make sure there is no issues there.

That seems to be the area all three of your items having problems, have a common relation to. First place I would start to look anyways..

Good luck to you!

i had similar issues and it turned out to be the grounds. with help from you guys and checking all my grounds my lights work fine now. propwash is right. be careful on the plug those pins are delicate.

Yeah on the pins 3 is turn 4 is lights and 5 is gas gauge lol so I am sure something is bridging in there some were. th last time I had it out the speedo cable connector broke and is now rigged in there until I buy another so I figure until then I don't need high beams! lol

Years ago I had my cluster out to replace all the bulbs. It's a lot easier to just pull it than to leave it in but when I placed it back into the dash, I didn't install any of the screws. I just wanted to see if all the lights lit up. Man, talk about screwy chit happening lol. Once I screwed it in, all was well. Check to make sure it's grounded good too...
