My 1964 Polara 500

She blew out a ton of mouse residue out of exhaust and smoked just a little bit for about 15 minutes smelling like old raunchy fuel but cleared up and hasnt smoked anymore that I can see. Seems like most of smoke was from trash in exhaust system.

Sounds like great news! A bottle of carb cleaner in the tank with fresh gas could help really clean out the system... only a suggestion, did it once to a car i had and it seemed like very time it was started it got better and better.. Good luck with it enjoy!

Starting the rust repair

Have moved the ole girl into garage and started repairing rust from rear going forward. Trunk, quarters and rear two foot or so of rails are shot. Bought a rear clip for frame rails and cross members and have it ready to splice back in. Is tedious but love the challenge of bringing them back. Not sure why rust so bad in just rear section of car... It's almost like car sat with rear downhill and water pooled in rear section. More to follow.

Nice project! The 64 I had back in the early 70's had the factory reverb too. But I also had the AM/FM radio. Mine was an auto though and a vinyl top. Love the color combo.

somebody has been busy lookin good :headbang:

Love that body and color combo...can't wait to see more pics....thanks

Me too. Had a 64 426 (440 model) in my Navy days. Push button, I converted it to a 4 speed.

That's funny. My dad was a big Mopar guy. When I was about 7 years old he also had a 426, push button auto. Turquoise in and out. I have always loved them ever since.

That is such a kick *** body style, I love that car!
