My 70 Roadrunner Viper build

Cool Build, I am in the middle of a similar build for a client. 1968 Roadrunner Snakeskin Green, Gen IV (2008) Viper V10 with 6 Speed, Magnum Force K Member kit, Wilwoods all the way around, Classic Air, springs relocated with 3" added to wheel tubs, Budnik Wheels 18x8 and 20x13, Viper seats and Pedals, Exhaust exiting out the quarter like the Viper, Custom Stereo. I am just getting started with trying to figure out the wiring and ECM. I have heard that the Gen IV is tough to work with.

Not to hijack your thread, which is awesome, but since some people have expressed interest in doing the same I still have my Gen III Viper truck motor for sale.

Been a while since I have posted anything. I have been busy but lots of little jobs. Some pics of smoothing out of battery tray area and r/h side of engine bay. The wheel alignment tech will no doubt hate me for closing off access holes for front adjusters. Got suspension and modified K member in. I have refitted engine and transmission and have finally got car off frame and on its wheels. That moment deserved a beer or two in celebration.

Great progress there so far 'Viper. I wish I had contacted you a few weeks ago....I was in Rotovegas with my Dad checking out the portable sawmills demonstration at Peterson's yard. Might have to get a crew together and pay a visit to your shop soon... :headbang:

Tire sizing and wheel combo may change at some point but at the moment it has 20x11's on the rear with 305 tires and front is 20x9 with 245 tire. I want to fit 18's to the front but can only buy the rims in the US.

Haha, I've gotta agree. I think there may be advantages to some of the aftermarket ones but I still like the idea of a tried and true system with a few tweaks. I'm very happy with the way mine works.

Well, I had the chance to call in to see this Roadrunner build in person during the week. It is way better looking in person - photos do not do this car justice. A very cool build, and the bodywork is shaping up nicely. It's always nice to start with a clean car, and most of this car is original steel, and in extremely good condition. I like the modification around the brake and wiper motor areas - lots of Kiwi-ingenuity happening here.

Well its been a while since I have updated, but I have been slowly ticking off the jobs. The car has been on its wheels for some time now. I have just finished the install of the brakes, but still need to bleed and adjust. I had the roof skin spot welded on by our local panel shop , and I walked out of there with a huge grin. They were simply amazed at how good the car was, I had guys coming out of the shop congratulating me on the work. I was very happy with the positive feedback from the professionals. I have modified radiator by fitting new inlet and outlet pipes to suit and have rotated the thermostat housing. I made brackets down the tunnel to secure rear brake pipe, fuel pipe, battery cable and wiring loom, and lastly the shifter assy. Then I stripped and epoxy primed the floor pan. While I was away photographing the wildlife in South Africa with my better half I sent the car to a workshop called Sinco Customs for them to make a custom set of headers. They did a really nice job, but it did end up costing a fair bit more than initially estimated. It was a difficult bill to pay after coming home from a 5 week overseas holiday. I then made a x-pipe front pipe and the rest of the exhaust system with new mounts. The system is 2.5" at this stage. I will see how it sounds and possibly change mufflers or pipe size. Lots of other little jobs done which I will try and organize pictures of and post them in a few days.
