My New 68 Charger!

Hey guys,

So after months shopping various Mopar beasts I finally pulled the trigger on a gorgeous restored 68 Charger. It was originally a 318 car optioned with R/T heavy duty suspension and power steering. It now has a well built 360 engine - which runs and sound stupendous! Will post a clip.

The car is ultra straight, tight and no rust. I am in love! I am thinking this car might steal my heart strings from the much newer and more advanced toy ;-)

1. My plan is to put some 17" wheels with meaty tires that nicely fill the fenders
2. New 14" Steering wheel
3. Tighten suspension perhaps with coil overs and thick sway bars
4. Add A/C
5. Put a built 440 with 500hp+ and new tranny (existing 727 flange won't bolt to BB)

Speaking of the tranny here is a question... If I'm doing a tranny anyhow is it relatively easy to move to 4spd?

Very nice.
Swapping to a 4 speed from an auto will require pedals, a hole in the floor, the trans, and all the linkages.
Also a collar on the column to replace the one that has a hole for your current shifter.

Not a bad suggestion... We'll see. I've learned from modding my other cars that the sooner you do what you ultimately want to do to the car the more "pleasure ROI" you get from the mods. Otherwise when you change it and 1 year in that is 1 less year of benefiting from your mods!

Great Buy, it actually looks way better in the video then the pics. you really cant see how straight a car is until you see the glares moving over the surface, when those clears are rock stead images of your surroundings and not the glares youd see in a pond with a light breeze you know youve got good work done. sounds good, not quite that big block rumble, but those 360s rev up quick huh, makes for a fun toy for sure. lets see some more pics, open that hood up, interiors? you pulled it off a 4 post, in the vid, pull it back on there and lets see underneath. maybe car guys are a little pervy, we all gotta see under the skirt if you know what i mean.

sweet! the 68's are my favorite year, and that 360 got some power. car looks and sounds great.
