My Y2 yelow 1969 Road Runner

Here are some more pics guys. The shop is really going to town on it. They got the doors repaired and they were working on the deck lid. They got the trunk cut out and hopefully will have the new trunk in and maybe quarters on the next time I'm there. I still cant believe that I am finally getting this done. The last two times I went to the shop I brought my dad with. Its cool to see him excited about the project. He remembers driving the car back in 1974 in Anaheim Ca. when my parents got married and were visiting my aunt and uncle who owned the car at the time.

nice ,good luck with the rest of the restoration and keep us updated thanks for sharing glad to hear your dad enjoys the progress :headbang:

glad to see the shop isn't waisting any time!

Thanks for the responses guys. I am looking for some help with a reference pic of the passenger side inner fender/engine bay area. My roadie had an old school alarm with some holes drilled in the area around where the washer tank is mounted and I would like to have these holes filled but I don't know for sure witch holes need to be there. I would hate to have holes filled and then have to drill them again. A reference pic of the hood release area and also the drivers side inner fender engine compartment would be very helpful. Or if any of you have a link from a previous restoration with pics for future reference please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Great looking car! Looks like the shop is really making some good progress. Here's a Y2 '69 GTX that I restored earlier this year. I wrapped up the restoration in August '12. But... The second picture is what it looked like this time last year. And to think, when this picture was taken, I already put a rail in it and the car was actually starting to come back together. haha.

That's taking it down a ways! Nice work! Love these threads where these great old cars are brought back to life.

Thanks for the pic corndog. Your car is awesome. I hope mine can look that good some day. It's so overwhelming some times seeing my car like this but this forum helps. Especially seeing some of the other projects that people have started and finished. It's amazing.

Lookin good pbparent. Can you give the name of the shop doing your sheet metal work? Looks like they know what they are doing. I am in mid Michigan and have a Challenger that's going to need metal similar to your project. Thanks.

Just some more pics for you guys.

Nice looking project. Looks like you picked a good shop to do the work. They are moving right along.

I hate to ask you this , but How much is the body shop going to charge you for all that work ? I always figured I would have to do all that myself because of the cost. Great progress. great thread. I don't think there's a body shop in my area that would even want to take on that project. They all seem to be into quick turn arounds. congratulations finding a shop that jumped on it, instead of making you wait months and months. and then giving you more months of excuses. Can't wait to see more.

Looks good I dropped mine of on the 10th of this month and doing the same thing visit it weekly and make my weekly drop off mine dosnt need all the metal work no rust. You can see mine at 69 roadrunner restore I started a post in this section on 12-29-12 painting yellow with black strip. ? your yellow looks lighter mine is called lemon twist yellow looks darker than yours. Keep the pics coming and I will do the same. Steve
