I have a friend that is selling me a rolling shell 1970 roadrunner. It's somewhat stripped, but alot of parts come with it. Somebody started a restoration project and never finished. So, it's a rolling shell for the most part, less motor and trans.

The only reason I'm buying this is because he needs to move it quickly and it's intreguing. When I look under the car, it CLEARLY has a boxed frame, and it's CLEARLY been done at the factory.

Any idea as to what this might be, and if this car has any value?

I can probably get some pics early in the week. It's pretty straight, rust in the typical places, but not junk. Very restorable.

Pics would definitely help. got the vin and fender plate?

I should have some pics tomorrow.

Based on what you've posted so far, there is no way to know the answer to either question.

What's the VIN? Was it a Hemi car? 6bbl? Automatic? Four speed? Any fender tag to tell us if it had an axle package?

How stripped is it? What's missing? Was it a Super Bird?

We'll need a lot more information if you want us to help.

Lets narrow it down a little for pmsjaw.
What 70 RR came from the factory with a "boxed frame"? If any.
Hemi, 6 pak, verts ?

What do you mean by 'boxed' frame? Do you mean the car has frame connectors? Some of the modern connectors are extremely well made and look like a factory part. I'd like to see pics.

You are likely talking about torque boxes, installed at the factory for 426 and 440/6 barrel cars.

..unless he has not seen a unibody frame before, and is used to seeing a full framed car that uses C-channel steel.

That's my guess without pictures or vin #'s...

That's my point. Unless we know more about the car, we're all just guessing.

Based on the information provided, the car could be anything from a 383 - column auto to a Hemi four speed Superbird.

Let's get more facts before we try and answer the original questions.

I'm trying to post the pics now. No fender tag. I'm also getting the feeling by looking at it that the dash was swapped out at some point, as was the rear end, as was I'll bet the K member. Other than the trunk, rear sill, and rear quarters the car overall has minimal rust. Let's see if I can get the pics up.

Ok, I looked at the numbers, and the title, and the dash, (and the car), and I personally don't think that the title and the VIN number was for THIS car. I think someone changed out the dash, (thus maybe the VIN), but I don't know why. This car is/was too good to scrap. So I'm researching and asking alot of questions of the people I know related to the car trying to find out what I can. Pics next.

Here are the pics.

Let's back up a little...Does the Title/VIN/Dash number match the numbers stamped in the body?

Still can't get the pics to load no matter what size I try to shrink them to.:angry9:

Yes, this is basically what I'm describing.

Actually, only ALL ragtops and hemi B-bodies got the torque boxes in '66-70 B-bodies. NO 440 4bbl or 6bbl cars got them, unless it was a ragtop, no Superbirds, no A12s, etc... Maybe you have stumbled upon a '70 hemi RR that was stolen back in the day!

They should look like this...

Getting a photobucket account for hosting pics is soooo easy. Once you upload them to there, it's simply clicking copy and past the IMG tags to any board.....

this is all a hoax with out pictures

I agree. People want others to answer questions then they don't post the information needed to help.

The most simple questions have been avoided.

What is the VIN? RM2??0?******
Do the body numbers match the dash VIN and title?
Is the car an automatic or four speed?
