I just put a set of Foose Legend 17 inch by 8 inch chrome mags on my 1969 Road Runner. Additionally, Wilwood four wheel disc brakes are now being installed. I am now looking for a 17 inch X 7 inch steel wheel (for a spare tire) that I can mount a tire of the same diameter and circumference to complement the sure grip rear axle. Don't really want to buy another Foose Mag to make this happen. I have searched everywhere I can think of on line to locate a steel wheel to fit my needs without success. Anyone out there that can point me to a place where I can purchase such a wheel. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Perhaps you want your spare to look at certain way? If you just want a usable option... the rim diameter doesn't matter...just get a 15" tire that stands the same height as your 17". I would match the back tire height so it doesn't work over your sure grip, assuming your running a sure grip.

Agree. Except the wilwoods he's about to install might be too big for a 15. Maybe that's why he needs a 17?
The rav rim looks like a winner here. Find one in a crashed rav in the boneyard.

Thanks, I missed that.Lol
Used to be we couldn't run 14's on some of the bigger brakes...now 15's can be too small to clear the caliper.

The particular Wilwood Disc Brake kits I chose will work with 15" wheels. However, I decided to go with the bigger 17 inch Foose Legend mags because I really like the look on a Road Runner. I am going to try the Rav 4 approach suggested and see if I can find a tire the same height as the 245/50 R17 tires I have mounted on the Foose mags. Just trying to get a usable spare to carry for out of town car shows. When you put it in the trunk with a suitable tire cover, no one will know the difference. LOL I have already gone out of the pure stock restored concourse area with my Road Runner (Lots of chrome under the hood and other mechanical changes such as aluminum radiator, electric fans, Vintage Air, etc., etc. to make it dependable on the road). Just want to make it look good! When I bought it, the brakes on this car scared me to death hense the 4 wheel Wilwood disc brakes. Now I can stop after going fast. Thanks for the help from all with this problem.
