hi gurus....today i took the reverse lights off of the switch i had rigged up and under the dash on the '66 Belvy II ...(to get it inspected )... and ran the wires to the switch on the transmission like theyre supposed to be. upon crawling under the car , i found that there is no plug....you know,,,,the plug that plugs into the switch on the tranny for the reverse lights.

being that i have NO idea what year this tranny is...i will describe the SWITCH on the tranny. it is a 3 pin type....not blades....but pins.

does anyone have the PLUG that mates to this switch ? I NEED AT LEAST 4 INCHES OF WIRE COMING OFF THE PLUG SO I CAN SPLICE INTO THE WIRES I ALREADY HAVE RUN.

i have the reverse lights working like they are supposed to,,,,,,,,but i used a splicing wire "crimp " connector because it fit on the pins with a little "squeeze" to make it tight....but i would really rather have the plug. if you have one please let me know....I HAVE CASH ! :headbang:

66 and 67 used the switch on the column, what did you do, run wire from the inside to the outside? You are supposed to have a single terminal neutral saftey switch with a threaded stud on the transmission, There should be a purple and a white wire at the base of the steering column for the reverse lights. Note the single terminal switch is no longer made, so using the 3 pin switch might be your only option. This leads me to my next question, is the neutral saftey working? If you want any help, Pm me and I'll be gald to help.

i bought the Belvy II with a 1978 440...so im guessing the 727 Torqueflite tranny is that year, or another year but im not sure . the car came with a 273 so ill guess it had a 904.

the previous owner put motor and tranny in....i didnt put it in. yes...the wires seem to be coming from the steering column but i didnt trace them because they worked the b/u lites when touched together.i ran the 2 wires that control the B/U lites from the column under the carpet to the floor shifter and down thru the rubber grommet where the cable goes to the switch on the tranny

the neutral safety switch is NOT WORKING...i can start the car in any gear....but im not concerned with that. i wanted to put the B/U lites the way theyre supposed to be. i just need that plug thats all....they work and come on when i put the car in reverse...but i have the wires "jury rigged" with crimping connectors.....i just need that plug that plugs onto that 3 pin switch .!:headbang:

Gotchya, while you are at it, when you get the plug, run the center wire up the transmission bellhousing to the starter relay for the neutral saftey. That thing is very important when you least expect it. Been there and done that. It's be a shame to smash up that car after everything you've done.
