so, i have a new 440 coming , builder says 515 HP.. i know very little about carbs, was looking at Demon 750 speed demon carb, builder says 850 carb is a better match, and what about torque straps and poly lok engine mounts?? I have never had a motor with this mchh power and so i'm not sure what i need to do, need some advise !!

I have dynatech mounts. They have around 1000 miles on them now (lots of power shifting going on.)Check them out:

I’d use an 850DP Holley architecture carb (if the 515 HP estimate is accurate) and tune it properly.

I use the mitymounts also, (similar powered 440) and I use an 850 speed demon, mechanical secondary no choke model it works nice with my combo. A 750 will work fine too. I personally prefer the 850 on a 440 that is up around the 500hp range.

i dont see an application for 72 b body with a 440

An 850 DP may take some tinkering, but it will give you what you want. Good motor mounts are really nice.

Whatever you do, DO NOT only use stock engine mounts, especially the new Chinese crap mounts. Do either Torque strap, Schumacher mounts, or solid.

Drivers side

So far so good on my 383/432 Stroker

My 440 is happy with the 850 Demon. Using Schumaker Interlockers for mounts.

My driver side mount has two bolts through it like the one posted above, zero issues and doesn't cost a fortune like the other mounts.

And for a carb I am running an Edelbrock 800 cfm vacuum secondary carb on the street.

The PolyLoc works good. Bought a set, and only installed drivers side, so I could use the other on another car (driver side.)

Running a bolt though a stock type mount also works and is cheaper.

I like the the new TBI EFI units over a carb. You can use the handheld display as a gauge display too. I think the Super Sniper has analog inputs so you might be able to also monitor and log fuel and oil pressure? In addition to Voltage, AFR, Engine Temp, and more.
