Your car is probably 3850# use a 4.30 gear 29.5x10.0 tire or 30"tall tire,3500 converter or 91/2 about 4200rpmThat depends on the intake setup.

These are parts that I use personally and have great success with!Hope this strikes your intrest and lights the fire for ya!!!

Weight would be closer to 3400 and 4.30's will be way to high for street use. We have a ton of freeways around here and with 3.91's I was turning about 4500 rpms.

You must have very small tires turning 4500rpm.4.30gear and a 29.5tall tire you should be turning in the neighborhood 3800rpm @70mph

At the time they were, now they are 28"

You can use the 3.91 gear set.Just use the dual plane intake with a little smaller carb 850 would be fine.Run the dynamic 91/2 converter, its tight enough on the soft side to perform daily driving duties.

While I would love to build a stroker I will probably just bore one of the blocks out .040 and go with a set of Icon flat tops with the small pins. I have dumped a bunch into my 63 and the 383 so I may have to build in stages. With 2 440 blocks I could run one with most of the parts I will need for my stroker and then once I have my crank and rods I can build the stroker.

You first note what gas you have that is easily available and go from there. That will decide your max compression ratio and the compression will decide the cam. Gearing will be based on the power band of the engine and car weight and how you want to optimize the car. To optimize for 1/4 mile of course you would choose the lower gear like the 4.10 but a 3.55 with a 1:1 final and quiet exhaust is the lowest I would go for highway driving - unless you want to have your ears ringing after a 500 mile trip. Keep the carb a tad on the small side for optimum street drivability. If you will spend 80% of your driving time on the street why would you need an 850 carb that will only give a benefit at 6000+ RPM?
