Need CA DMV Registration advice

Got a Notice of Suspension of license Plate from DMV for lack of proof of insurance. I no longer own the 09 RT and submitted a release of liability when sold and making the transfer at AAA. Put the plate on the Redeye and everything is kosher. DMV is showing TRACPAC1 which is invalid as an 8th character is not allowed. They are too ******* stupid to know this.
AAA says to re submit the release online. Tried that cannot complete the form as I am not recognized as the owner. I’d pay the $14 just to shut them up but would have to put TRACPAC1 on the check and that could be construed as false. Just don’t want to have issues at DL renewal time with an outstanding bill. Field offices not taking appointments. Got nowhere on the phone.

After not living there for 4 years now, I received a letter from Ca. DMV earlier this year saying that they are revoking my license for lack of CA. insurance. Wait, I haven't lived there in 4 years, I don't even have a CA. DL. surrendered it after I moved and I get this nonsense? Just goes to show how things are borked up in that state, glad I'm out! Your Tax dollars are hard at work doing nothing for you! Good Luck

AAA probably screwed up.. They may have assigned that plate to your car in order to swap to your new car. AAA almost did the same thing to me on a Plate transfer.

AAA says they can’t fix it. Got any secret numbers that get through to DMV? So they added a 1 to trick the form then forgot the take it out?

I wish i did, I ended up in DMV hell once I hope to never visit that place again..

No luck with that phone number. I’m resending the release to DMV with a note explaining and a copy of the new owners registration. Thanks everyone.

Call the main California DMV in Sacramento at this number - 800-777-0133 - and use the callback prompt. They will call you back within a couple of hours and tell you right then.

IMO pay the Fee, all they want is money, keep good records mail everything, certified mail. Ca DMV is the epicenter of Commifornia

Pay the bill anyway ! to stop any additional fee's from the DMV, The DMV is Dirty trust me, they put a tax lien on my bank account of $1100.00 for a car i sold that the guy never put in his name

That number worked! Got a call back. Says it is an automatic trigger notice. Says ignore it. Had
him double check current reg and it is fine. Thanks. I’m gonna keep that number!
