Before I order these I just want to see if someone can confirm that these will work for my application. These are Monroe shocks (p/n 31131) for a Dodge truck. I needed a longer shock because I rearched my rear springs on the Roadrunner 2". I measured from the lower shock mounting point to the top on the car and have about 22" there but the car is also just a rolling shell so there is no additional weight on the springs yet. Here is the link to the shocks I'm looking at. http://catalog.monroe.com/catalogPa...atalogCode=monroe&locale=EN&loadStatus=ACTIVE

With the car on it's own weight, what I usually do with leaf springs is to measure from the axle tube to the bump stop on the frame. Using a jack stand or a 2x4, place it where the lower shock mount would be at that point and measure from there to the upper mount and subtract an inch. Now jack up the car and let the rear hang. You can take two bottle jacks and put them between the housing and the frame and jack the rear towards the floor until you feel tension on the jacks. Measure the distance from the lower and upper shock mounts and add an inch. Sounds like a pita and it is but it has always worked for me. You may not be able to find shocks that fit just perfect but do you plan on jumping the car and landing it hard? I used to do that crap and never broke a shock or a mount.

Definitely don't plan on jumping it. Actually I think it's already been jumped before as I had to pull the front passenger frame rail down about an inch.
