Need details on Gas Cap to Tank

Hello Gents.
I have a 1970 Road Runner and want to convert the how to add gas to the tank. I am too tall and old to put gas in behind the license plate. The 68-70 Chargers fuel cap to tank is what I am converting too. Problem is Summit, Year One, Jegs, and Classic Industries do not have all the items to make this work. I know the gas cap and the tank are easy. The tube and 2 fittings on both ends are not shown anywhere. Can someone please point out what parts I need to make this work. Thanks

I dont know why you would do this to your RR, Why not just run a fuel cell in the trunk. This way you dont cut the RR up. I have a 70 Bee and yes its a PITA but thats life. Good luck if you do it and post pics.

Go to a full serve station. Let the kid fill it. You can hover over him and supervise.

No need to even bend over if using a jerry can, using a transmission funnel.

At a gas station set the kick off latch or preset the pump to 20 or 30 bucks.

Come up here, all of our Coop stations will fill your tank, clean your windows. They are NOT Commies .
Don’t know about our most Western Province though. Hope this doesn’t get killed. Not politically intended.

I'm glad to see that there's still some civilization somewhere - and service!
My second job in HS was working at a full service gas station/garage. (It did have a self serve island, too.) The rule was that we had to clean the windshield for anyone who pulled into full service - unless it was raining. Even if they only got a buck's worth of gas. Cleaning the windshield with a squeegee without leaving streaks is a skill I was taught back then and still use for myself today.

1968 -69 winter. Full service station. Checked oil, rad, windshield washer container, vacuumed if asked. Inspected air pressure. You could buy an Imperial gallon of regular and 25 smokes for a dollar Can. Almost the same as US$.
Made a booming 1.35 per /hour.

Too old and too tall? Portable stool is 9 bucks.. Throw it in the trunk and drive on... Plop your rear down on this while the gas is flowing. hell of a lot cheaper than modifying a RR to a Charger cap.

I wasn't giving you ****. It was an honest idea as an alternative to a ton of work. But Confucius say... "A fool and his money will soon be separated." Its your car do as you please with it.

Also the charger cap fits in a recessed area on the top of the quarter panel Are you willing to graft in a charger quarter panel so the cap and bezel fit flat? Here is a picture of a rotted out charger but you can see the recessed area.

Call us **** nuts??? Think you just stabbed yourself with a rusty screwdriver! The majority of us here are pretty light hearted but seems you viewed that differently....? I don't like the 'low mount' gas fill on cars either but if I like the car, it doesn't bother me all that much and well, I'm 73 with a lousy back but I sure ain't gonna call anyone '**** nuts'. Drill a damn hole in the floor of the trunk and then the tank and silver solder in a fill spout and continue on. Simple and cheap and no one will ever notice why you have the trunk lid open!

Hey, we all get frustrated and lash out sometimes.
The OP wants something that isn't readily available. Many times that is because the idea isn't smart, easy or cheap. That applies here. The reason nobody offers a "kit" is because so far, it looks like only ONE person thinks that it is a feasible and good idea.
It is neither of those things.
I love doing stuff that nobody else does. I've been teased and insulted for drawing outside the lines or spending time making something work that was never designed for my intended use.
I sometimes have to abandon an idea when it finally occurs to me that my idea isn't a good one.
This is a bad idea. Others are not discouraging you just to be rude, they are trying to help.
Get a funnel. get a bench. Get someone else to pump the gas.
Doing it your way is a lot of work but if you're willing to make the leap, be ready for some down time. As stated, you'd need to graft in the recess in the quarter panels for the gas cap like the Chargers had. From there, you'll need to modify the trunk floor, you'll need a Charger filler tube too. It can be done but it will take some custom work and it won't be cheap to do it.
Finally, there was no need to insult the members here. I've found the people to be the most helpful on all the forums I've been on. You've been a member for 3 months and when you get common sense responses like you have here, you insult the members?
Many times, the reasons that nobody validates an idea is because the idea isn't a good one. If you find yourself facing huge opposition, it is more likely that the problem is you, not the 10 people that advise you to consider other options.

I only do resto mods so I am NOT afraid to change things up. I have figured the filler tube so I dont need any help on this issue.
