Installed NOS 68 Fender but is missing the part to connect bolts to the lower grill. Does anyone know what part this is called? I have my old fender but they look welded on?
I think that your referring to the "cage nut" from the picture as posted above. They are available in a variety of sizes and configurations.
The problem that I see is that the fender was never stamped for the provision and the reason that it is NOS and had been set aside because of this issue. It is going to be relatively difficult to correct properly other than cutting one out of another fender and welding it back in place for the proper placement.
You can source the cage nuts from your local auto body supply shop. You can view them at the AMK Fasteners website under the cage nut page, www.amkproducts.com. But if you simply transpose a section from an old fender, no need to source one; unless the threads have rusted out.
