just remeber your probably not the only one looking at it so you should act fast the car looks good for a grand but like others said he needs to be rid of it so low ball him and work up from there .
maybe join AAA not sure how it works up there but if you join you may get AAA to tow it home for free plus a discount on title transfer .
either way id get your brother to take a ride with you to look at ASAP .

Keep in mind that $700 could easily, and I mean very easily, triple or more before you even get the car on the road. When was the last time it was registered and inspected? How strict are your state DMV requirements for inspection and registration for a daily driver, and don't forget about insurance. Not to be a downer, but the car will cost you big $$$ to maintain, so your dad certainly has your best interest in mind if he does not let you buy it.
