need help with distributor

i just purchased and new distributor...and the the problem now is i cant turn the shaft unless i use alot of force.(cant turn the distributor)like the one i pulled from my car just turn freely with no effort

sending it back will be a problem rusty as it will cost me the same amout as the distributor as i have to ship it internationally...is there a way i could fix it?

Its possible,check inside make sure they didn't lock the shaft for shipping to prevent damage...What brand of distributor?

Yeah it wouldn't hurt to see if it is locked down on purpose. If it's defective, whomever you bought it from should be responsible for shipping both ways.

Did you take the cap off and inspect inside? You should determin what the problem is , before all the costs of shipping. Of course, do no damage, as then they could say you did it.........................MO
