Help again.I sure was lucky to find awebsite with so much knowledge. My 64 Fury convertible has a 500hp. 440-a Cope racing pushbutton trans and a soon to arrive Moser (Dana) 3.54 rear to arrive on Monday. What is the rear spring you would reccomend.I have the Hemi rear -Do I want the Hemi springs (6 leaves on the left-7 on the right) or is that too much for a cruise night car with a few an occasional run down the strip. Thanks in advance and I really appreciate any replies.

I would think the Cal-Trac system is the way to go.It would give adjustability that mopar s/s springs do not have.:munky2:

What is the main use for the car?

He stated it in the first post so it sounds like a street driven car with a little track time for fun.
I even read that....I need a quick hard smack up side the head!

Cal-Tracs work well for a lot of people. I worked with a friend that had a 9 second Challenger and we never could dial them in. His weight bias was kinda bad but I don't remember the numbers anymore. We finally threw on ladder bars and the car became consistent and went a little faster.....

from my experience i didn't see much improvent from ss springs to cal-tracs.
just a little.
best bang for your buck would be to find some 002 003 super stock,NOT MADE IN MEXICO SS SPRINGS.

A lot of people don't buy into some of my shade tree automotive work but I've been re-stacking and re-arching my own springs for years. Another option is most larger cities have a place similar to this shop. http://www.heitmancompany.com/products.html
Been a long time since I've used them unless it's been for parts like clamps etc. Spring work is kinda like setting up rear gears....many are afraid of digging in. Springs are trial and error to get exactly what you want and less time is wasted doing it myself than running back and forth to a spring shop and ordering on line takes even more time if you don't get what you want the first time....

IF your springs need to be replaced, I got mine from ESPO.com.

If they do not need to be replaced and hold the car straight, your OK. More traction or spring action can be done by cutting the bands off the rear of the springs to allow them to open up under power.
If the car doesn't go stright and the axle is sitting correctly, one side is worn out. Perhaps he center section/sure grip.

i had pretty good results with s/s springs with arc flattened out to allow the springs to arc during take-off ,to help eliminate porpoising, and clamped the front half to control wheel hop....car went 1.37 60' ft.,high 9's in quarter @ 3500 lbs...and still has a nice feel on the street and it keeps that stock look ;if that is what you are looking for. now have cal-tracs on...not a noticeable improvement , but the springs should last longer
