NENDRA Racers killing the tree

And the walls came crumblin' down.....

I'd like to see how a 3300 lb car cuts a .00x on a footbrake on a .400 tree. Must be some kind of majic.

Here's the car. I know it cause I was in the other lane cutting an .040@ 3500 lbs

Here's the car that cut a 004 and a .007. I know because I was driving it. I'll post up the time slip.
But I footbrake only

A buddy of mine was doing it consistently when we were running Super Street back in the early 80's.....and with a stick car but he did red light quite often lol. My best light was a .009 foot braking but it wasn't on a .4 tree. One day I drove someone's car for the first time and was really slow in the only time trial I got. Made an adjustment in staging and red eyed by .001 in the first round. Talk about heart break. Anyone ever drink a Jolt Cola to improve your RT if they were slow? :D My biggest problem with RT's was being consistent but were usually slow in the early rounds but got better in the later rounds if I was lucky enough to make it into the later rounds with crappy lights....

Going 00x on a .500 tree is very doable. But a .00x on a .400 requires a car that reacts around .250 , add .150 for the driver and that will get you there. If your car is.00x on a .500 tree it reacts around .350. There's not a person on earth that can react .050. To make it .150 off the foot brake is tough, not imposible. But most cars can't come close. Deep stage is an option if allowed. My car couldn't come close to .400 shallow staged. How does the same car run a .500 tree? It would be .100 red every time.

Gotta make a change for running the different lights. Changing roll out is one option. This subject might make a good post on what everyone does....that is if they want to let out their secrets. Could be something simple like not drinking any Jolt Cola :D

I've been photo taking and videoing NENDRA now for a few years now.
They were on a .500 full tree and didn't see many red lights and most were .001-.040 all day long.
I'll see if I can get closer to the starting line and video these guys tomorrow.

Ok .500. That explains it. My last 5 losses, -.006, -.012, -.002, -.012, -.001, a little to close.

Let's me clarify myself better.
They are on a .400 full tree for the last 2 years. Previously they ran on a .500 full tree.
I guess they wanted something more challenging and I believe Beaver Springs and 422 Motor sports were also playing with the .400 full tree, so they kept it the same.

That's a whole nother animal. I've run it and I personally I think the .400 full is ridiculous. Inexperienced racers will be late. The car won't leave quick enough so the sharp guys will cheat and leave in between bulbs. It doesn't help even anything out.

It helps when all you race is on a .400 tree.
All others that do other races it will hamper.

Agreed, I have raced it, just don't like it. That being said 4 outings were 2 runner up, 2 wins

I hated a full tree .500 or .400, I did well on both too...
Rarely ran any .400 full tree, that's a gimmick...
I did run some in Goodguys/Gary Meterze {?}/SCTA Nost. stuff,
most racers there "couldn't have red lit if their life's depended on it",
for car pre 1950 stuff, it didn't last long either, nobody liked it...
I think Super Chevy Sundays tried it too, it didn't last long, nobody liked it...
I don't know of any "real sanctioning bodies" running that .400 full tree,
maybe fringe/outsiders groups...
I'm kind of out of the loop for a while thou, but still stay ontop of the sport...

I preferred a .400 Pro-Tree, heads up too,
run what you brung, any day any time...
