Never assume anything

You'd be surprised! Ive had cars FAIL competitions for "Gaps Lining Up TOO WELL". It was the "60's". We still do em that way today
On the driver's side trunk curve to dutchman panel the curve gap is close to 1/2". I'd get deduct points as if I cared. Factory fit, sorry for fat finger covers worst.

I've seen some door gaps at the rocker to quarter curve that are 1/2" then 1/16" then 1/2" again.
...all in the 2-3 inches of the curve.

No need to be too upset with body gaps, let the judges have at it with this ride.

Just can’t believe in the day quality control would let that out the door
I work in a factory that makes electrical equipment and this is the kinda stuff we let slide at the end of the month when the bosses are pushing for that extra million in the production quota. Scratched paint? Spray it with a rattle can. Door doesn't fit? Bend the hinges, punch holes, cut it up to fit. Some of our steel doesn't have die-punched holes for mounting emblems like that so you have to eyeball it with a hand drill and a template.
