Never been a dog lover, BUT.......

Wife and I have never really been dog people. We've had some. Even bred mini pins for a time....but somehow, dogs just don't do it for us. We both grew up in cat families and we both love cats.....that's just how it is. Dogs are ok, but well....you get the picture.

Anyway, I was readin the news as I always do and came across this:

I tell you what, dog lover or no, here's hopin Kabang makes a full recovery. What say yall? I say any animal risks their life to save someone deserves it. Kabang is a female dog because I did a general internet search and found several pics of her nursing puppies....so I hope SHE gets fixed up. She's already in California now awaiting surgery.

Have been raised around cats and dogs all my life. Dogs will either hate you or love you. They have that sense to see inside a person. Cats can be a person's best friend or if they feel like it, they will ignore you. It doesn't matter to them one way or the other. Congrats to KABANG for stepping in to show what man's best friend really means. Hope she makes a full and speedy recovery.

Wow! Sure hope they can improve her quality of life. I was raised around cats and only had one dog but there's always been some kind of animals around from cats to rats. Right now we have 3 prairie dogs and man, those guys are a mess! When our part maine coon cat (16 lbs) was around, we had rats and P dogs and they ruled him lol Never had any fish tho.....but they are good eating!

Wow that's hard to look at, as many of you well know I'm a total dog person, I have always had a dog, as long as I can remember, my Buddy is with me nearly 24-7 most all the time, I would be devastated if he was injured like that, to save me or any of the kids.... UC Davis is the best, I hope they can help this poor brave dog, who almost gave her life to save a little girl, I could only hope she gets whatever she needs, she's definitely earned it...

I agree, they never have false intentions or hidden agendas.

They deserve to be here just as much as we do, and are MUCH better stewards of the planet and it's resources.

As this story illustrates, bravery, loyalty, and sacrifice are not uniqeuly human cahracteristics, either.

I don't know about that....my mixed breed terrier was a little sneak at times. She would do things sometimes that made me wonder if she was part human lol

I had a Beagle once, that was a BIG sneak lol.. You always had to watch, what i swear he would deliberately hide or take if you left the room. I too hope they can improve the dogs quality of life.

Poor dog, I hope they are able to give it a normal life again. That right there is the reason I am a dog person, like dogs more than people.
