New Bilstein shocks installed today!

Bilstein shocks + PST front sway bar + PST torsion bars totally transformed my charger. It handles a beauty.

Rear sway bar eventually

I realize this is an ancient post, but Im about to throw down on a set of Bilstein's for my GTX, and one of the things that appears to annoy me is that the front shocks do not have the upper dust covers. Am I wrong? Not seeing them right? Did the factory ones have the covers?

Good to hear they perform well, as I thought they would. Just want to find out if anyone did something for the dust covers on the front shocks.

Rob.
Same issue I just ran into. Wanted to put a set on my Fury but the fronts don’t have the covers and I’d really like to keep the look original…

I’m wondering if I got the wrong rear shocks. Mine have a boot over the shock rod and the upper end is narrower than the upper shock mount. They came with three different metal sleeves, two packed together and a longer one packed separately. After measuring the longer one is the same as the originals so I figured I’d use that, the lower slides on without a sleeve. I’m waiting for new washers to install the shocks so hopefully get it figured out on Saturday. The shocks are Bilstein/RCD and I think I got them from PST.

If your so hung up on how they look and not how they work apparently you spend more time laying under your car than behind the wheel... Cause standing beside the car you can't see the shocks.....

If you really need the rod covered cut the tube off the old shock & attach it to the new shock...

Can I ask what shock part did you use? Who did you buy from ? Thanks. Thinking of doing the same to my 68 coronet!

Oh, one stop shopping.. nice. did you use the G force sway bar? How did the install go?

Has anyone mentioned the discount we all can get thru PST? I saw somewhere , if you tell them you are a fbbo member, you get a 10% discount. Well sure as hell! Just ordered Bilsteins and front sway bar. Have to call in, tell the sales associate you want the discount, he will varify your member user name and Bingo. Saves almost 100.00 bucks..

We’ll, gee, thanks so much for your feedback..

Your Welcome... Seriously though, if you drive the car enough that ride quality & handling matters Bilstein's or some other high quality shock is worthwhile & honestly adding the covers is pretty easy

The front shocks I used to run on my cars didn't have top boots or covers. Why worry about that? These are not 4wd trucks slogging through mud.

That was way better response..
Well ya know, being nice gets kinda tiresome when people refuse to pay attention... Many of us have done this a very look time & we know what works... If ya need nice over concise learn to ignore grumpy old smartasses...

Koni's for me.

Best shock on the planet. You get
what you pay for. Infinitely adjustable
for non coil-over applications. But at
$500 + I will admit, beyond the
scope of most enthusiasts. The
ability to tune the suspension
at all four corners is paramount
to track applications.
And I can almost guarantee these
will never see nothing but asphalt.
