I'm getting ready to order all the wire harness' for my latest project and have a question I'm hoping one of you electrical experts can help with. On the last 2 69 RR's I ordered a standard harness and a electronic ignition kit. Used my original one wire alt. and the 2 prong ballast resister and everything is fine. My question: Is it worth it to by the 'modified' harness, a 4 prong ballast resister, electronic dist., orange box, and a 70 and later style alt? I already have a 69 alt., so I would have to also pay for a new one of those. Any opinions are welcome. This will be going on a 69 Charger.

That is what i plan on doing to mine!
Going to take a driveline out of my 73 Charger for a 69 RR,That way i would be able to use the whole setup!

I am currently building a 69RR with a 426 transplant. I bought the modified harness and converted to electronic ignition. I was also wondering the same thing you are. I also had a question (not trying to jack your thread) about why the 4 pin ballast resistor instead of the 2 pin. Maybe someone can explain what goes on between using the "standard" engine harness VS. the "modified" one.

same here -my 67 had old school (Malloryyl) now new alt-dist-harnes and box--(both) lest than 300 shipped from co. best money spent --NOW I KNOW I WONT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS DO IT ONCE AND DO IT RIGHT

I have a 70 R.R. that i replaced all the wiring on it also. It has been modified with Chrysler electronic ignition. But it uses the 2 pin ballast resistor. I bought the modified wiring for it. Perfect fit !!
