Good evening everyone, I hope you had a great Christmas and New Year’s. I thought I would stop in and introduce myself although I have already asked a few questions on other forums here. My name is Ryan (RJBSJ in the forums) and I live in Apex, North Carolina. I recently purchased my first Mopar car (1969 Dodge coronet 440 with a 318 auto in it), I have had three ram pick ups. I was able to pick up the car for a great price and luckily about the only rust on it looks like the trunk pan and some on the bottom of a couple of fenders. Planning on building Super Bee tribute. I had a few instances of purchasing original super bees, but I have a problem adapting an original super Bee to a car that I would like to build my own way. I grew up and have lived on a farm for the majority of my life so working on machinery/old cars is nothing new to me. My first car in high school was a 74 Camaro Z 28 and about eight years ago, I built a factory five MK3 Cobra from the kit. Sold the cobra a few years after I built it because it was too much of a beast for me lol. I put a 540 motor in it and had roughly 750 HP at the rear wheels so to say it was a handful is an understatement. It was a fun car but not fun to drive when it was cold outside or when it’s hot. I have always thought the 69 super bees were very unique cars, and I like the large size of them. My plans are to build the tribute, as mentioned, and probably put a stroke 440 in it somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 HP. I am currently stripping down the entire car to send out to have the bodywork/paint done. That is my weak point as bodywork so I would rather pay someone to do that. Planning on going with the F6 green with black stripe on the deck. I have the original Steelie 15 inch rims that will be black as well. Black vinyl top and black lift off hood with scoop. After stripping down everything on/in the car, I will be installing the QA one front suspension/torsion bar kit and changing it over to a front disc/rear drum car with a 8.75 rear end and 727 trans. Also will be going with the Borgeson Power steering and probably vintage air for the wife lol. Obviously I’m not trying to fool everyone to believe it is an original super Bee but would like for it to look as similar as possible. I’m sure I’ll have many many more questions and look forward to learning from y’all. Any hints/tips that you may have, please feel free to share.

Welcome to FBBO from NorCal Sierras

good luck with the 69 Coronet (future A12 clone/tribute)

Welcome to FBBO from Ontario, Ryan. Good luck with your 1969 Super Bee A-12 tribute project. Thanks for your pictures. I bought a new 383, automatic SuperBee coupe in 1969. It was nicely optioned with 3.91 axle package, power disc brakes, and RamCharger twin scoop hood. $3650.00 back then. By the end of my first summer, I had acquired an A-12 hood for it.

Welcome from the central coast of Cal. I like the path you're taking. I have two Coronets also. A 65 500, project, and a 67 Deluxe Wagon.

Gonna be a great project! I sold my 69 1/2 A 12 Superbee in the early nineties just before they exploded in value! I miss that car! Welcome to the site!
