Hi all. I'm Ben from eastern nc. Hopefully soon i will be the proud owner of a 67 belvedere. My girl's dad has it along with his 70 cuda. he bought it and put it in a shed where it has set ever since. really straight car. just a little surface rust. horrible yellow paint, but that is easy. the big question is what to do about the little 273 under the hood. My pockets arent deep at all so i am thinking 318 or 340.

welcome to FBBO nice looking project go with the 340 if you can find one

Welcome Ben. Sounds like a great project. Small block swap would be the least expensive. How about a 360?

Welcome Ben!

Hope things work out for you. Give that 273 a chance. They are a good dependable engine!

Welcome from Southeastern Arizona Tireguy! Nice Mopar you have there! Please share more pics!!!

Welcome to FBBO.
It it were me, I would try that 273 for a while, at least until your pockets are better lined....you'll soon find that the money trickle turns into a torrent with a MoPar restoration and upgrade.

The only thing would be the paint color. And wheels and brakes. Just want a little more power out of her. And thanks for the warm welcome.

:welcome:

There were factory hi-po versions of the 273 but if you have shallow pockets a 360 would be your best bet.

Welcome to FBBO from Hot & Sunny NorCal

a LA 360ci or Magnum 5.9ltr/360ci will fit the same place as the rest,
abundant easy to find & inexpensive usually too...

you can dress them up to be what ever floats your boat for the era...

good luck & Happy Moparing

Welcome to FBBO. Looks like you're going to have a nice project on your hands soon. I would be a 340 guy if you could afford it. A lot you can do with those heartbeats - or just leave them alone.

Welcome from Virginia

I'm from western N.C. Welcome' I'm a new member also. I have a crate 360 380 hp if you are interested. about 5000 miles on it. pulled it out to replace it with a 408. PM me if you are interested. I think this site will be great. Jim

Welcome to the site Ben! I kind of like the little 273. You should try it first before you go replacing it. A 360 would be sweet later on!
