I just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself. I'm Dan. My father has a 73 Charger we are currently working on (he's pretty much clueless when it comes to computers, so that is why I am on the forums) :laughing6: He's the third owner, and the car is numbers matching from what we can tell. We found the factory build sheets under the seats when we tore it down to do the bodywork. It was even purchased less than 2 miles from where he lives.

Currently plans for the car are to keep it mostly stock looking, and what changes we do make can be easily reversed back to factory. From the factory it was a 400 with a 2 barrel carb and auto. We plan to rebuild that motor back to factory specs eventually. We picked up another 400 to do a MONSTER build on and turn it into a 496 stroker with EFI. We are researching options for big brakes and suspension currently (you have to stop and turn with that much power right?), which is why I joined the forum.

Here are a few pictures before we tore it apart.

Hi DoubleD, welcome! Nice father and son project. That Charger will look sharp when it's all done.

Welcome and great project. I love family bonding, good luck and post some more pictures.

welcome from sterling heights MI....72 Charger here...

Welcome. It's good to see all these Michiganders. I moved south many years ago, but the large majority of my family is all around Lake St. Claire. I grew up in New Baltimore.

I drink too much when I visit the lake people....

My father lives in Durand, and I'm in Flushing. My dad is more than capable of tackling most of the project himself, however a few botched spinal surgeries have left him permanently disabled. I'm a graduate from Wyotech myself, so I am able to fill in where he is physically unable to, and between the two of us we have just about most of this project covered.

Welcome from Columbus, Ohio. Glad to see you're keeping the luggage rack on there. Those are an option you don't commonly see around.

Welcome from Grand Rapids, MI. Looks like a great project, i own a 73 Charger SE.
