Hello All,
Just joining the site here but have been wrenching on mopars for close to 40 years. I've been dormant in the hobby for a while as my daughter's activities and eventually college took up my time and money. She's graduated now and I'm going to resurrect my 64 Plymouth. Bought it in CA in 97, restored it and set it up for drag racing in NJ. Moved to Omaha, NE in 2001 and it got a major overhaul to go faster in around 2003 or so. Raced until about 2010 and mothballed it until now. Being a California car it was rust free which is nice, the 2003 build added a freshly built Indy 440-1 head engine I bought off of ebay (wow, what a risk that was in hind sight). Engine turned out to be all it was advertised as. Proceeded to break various driveline parts thanks to the added power, replacing with better as I went. Finally worked all the bugs out and by the end it had run a best of 6.39 in the eighth mile after nixing the leaf springs (I was spitting pinion snubbers every few passes) and moving to a ladder bar coil over setup. All steel except for the hood, all original glass too so not a light car by any means. Anyway, looking to dial it back some and put it on the street now. I'll surely be putting some of the go fast goodies up for sale here to help back it off (Jesel Belt drive, dominator carb, kirkey seat to name a few off the top of my head). I've also been into 66 Chrysler C-bodies forever as that was my first car. Built a nice 78 Dodge 3/4 ton power wagon back in the day. Just bought a new 2024 Ram Laramie Mega Cab 2500 4X4 and love it though the payments are brutal! Looking forward to being active on the site as I move into this new phase of mopar love!
Thanks, some pics of the Plymouth back when it made a lot of noise.
