Hey guys! Well I finally bought my dream car, a General Lee. I decided to buy one that was already converted instead of turning a beautiful charger into another GL. I'll be on here quite often because classic cars are not my field of expertise at all. Here are the specs on my car. I already swapped out the wheels for some new Vectors which I had painted semi gloss black to look correct. I've also got a wide push bar from James Smith that I just had powder coated but haven't had the chance to install yet. I'd love some feedback because I really want to be able to drive this car all over. It was originally built for the strip and right now I have to run it on 100 octane according to the previous owner. I want to tune it to run on pump fuel. I suspect I'll need a milder cam? What I really need is a good shop in the New Orleans area that is reputable and knowledgable of these cars. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.
Oh, the Weld Racing wheels are for sale if anyone is interested. Just posted them in the wheels/tires classifieds.

Welcome from Maine! Very nice! I'm sure someone will chime in on the gas situation. Looking at cam listed and compression, I am not sure if you could go 93 with octane boost and get that to work effectively and safely? Good luck! Get it ready for the shows!! You'll have fun with that one!

hi and welcome to the site :headbang:

Thanks everyone! XP29H, Where in Maine are you? I grew up in New Gloucester and spent the first 25 years of my life there.

Thanks for the compliments. I can't wait to get it out on the road, but $10/gallon for fuel is not practical. I really want to be able fire this thing up and go and have it run and drive/handle well. That may mean spending a lot of money on swapping in a modern Hemi and doing one of the suspension overhauls, but so be it. In time that is. I believe these cars were meant to be driven, and short of jumping a creek, that's just what I plan to do. Plus it would be a shame for a professional stunt driver to have a General Lee as a garage queen wouldn't it? ;)

welcome to FBBO

Welcome to FBBO. You General Lee look so authentic that I think I can hear the banjo music.

Welcome aboard FBBO - the General sure looks shiny. :headbang:

Welcome Lee!

Good looking General you have there! Where have you worked?

Thanks! I've worked on a bunch of movies and television. I'm also a stunt driver at Disney at Lights, Motors Action in Orlando. I also was one of the stunt drivers during Hazzard Homecoming in 2012.
