Trying to get up and running, heard some clattering thought we needed to adjust the lash again and I was right do we xero out and go 1/2 turn past lash, now the lifters are pumped up and the motor wont start.

Letting them drain off over night but if they don't is there a way to adjust them with out pulling them out? or go zero lash again and just start from there?

Valve train is comp hyd roller xtreame energy cam
comp roller lifters
440 source rockers and cupped push rods

I did space and align the rockers on the shaft to make sure there was no lateral movement

The lash should be at zero with the lifter pumped up too. I would loosen them up,set each Cyl with the camshaft lobe at it's baseline "zero lift & TDC", and then adjust to zero lash plus 1/2 turn in and lock them down.

when you go past zero with a pumped lifter it will hold the valve open slightly until the lifter pumps back down. do like what was suggested take the plugs out and crank the engine an extended period of time to pump them down and you should be ready to go. fyi you can put 2 turn or more past zero if you want but the amount past zero is how far the valve will float at high rpms from lifter pump. so if you never over rev the engine there will be no issue buy going past 1/2 past zero.it could put your adjusting screw in a none favorable position but we dont know if its in the total correct spot now and its better too far the not enough so that you have cup clearance on your rocker arm. probably tmi

yep zero lash got it runing just going to try 1/8 at a time and see. thanks guys.
