Just signed up to this form, Mopar "B" bodies because didn't even know such a thing was around. I'm an "X" super stock racer, 3 different max-wedge cars starting with 62s. Started off drag racing and haven't stopped yet, just don't have my own car running yet. Tune for others and do what help I can around here. I remember watching drag racing in Minneapolis ,Minn @ Minnesota Drag Ways which is of course long gone but those Max Wedge cars going in the 13s were the fastest things out there then. (door slammers I mean) One I really remember was a 63 aluminum front end car called "Mr. Clean". Gawd almighty that thing was fast!!!!
Have done Indy (6) years and then inbetween all other racing, road racing all over the country. Several classes. Did one year at, as I was always corrected saying, 24 Heures du Mans which came close to making me decide to stop all forms of racing. Then 4 years of doing F1 which I have decided is a form of racing that the only rules are WHOM can outspend WHOM? Did this with Lamborghini 79 through 82 and almost when to work for Lamborghini Engineering in Italy. Good thing I didn't, at the end of that year they went broke because Chrysler sold to the )(*$%#$% +_)(^%$ _+)(*^$##$ Germans! Now I'm still drag racing and doing a little NASCAR every year. Too bad Dodge got out of NASCAR, but it was the best decision to be made and I supported it all the way. NASCAR has always hated Chrysler and I think always will. 426 Hemi and all that stuff, winged cars didn't help either.
Several years ago I bought a 62 Dodge Polara which has been in limbo to be a street driven (modernized) max wedge car. Have all the parts but no time. Have a Keith Black aluminum block with what I'm starting with. Jeff
