Anyone checked out these intakes. Don't know if this site I copied will work on here. http://chryslerpower.com/webstore/Exhaust/Manifolds/Poly-SS-Manifold
Really cool. What I don't see mentioned or shown is a valley pan for that style manifold, or how one will work the upper radiator hose/ thermostat housing in.
Below is what I asked, followed by their response:
My Questions:
Inquiring about the Poly SS manifold. I saw nothing addressing a valley pan (would be needed for the manifold in the photo?) and an upper radiator hose neck/ thermostat housing. How is that addressed with this manifold? Also, what is the effective RPM range this operates in? I know the old cast iron do best up to about 3,500RPM while the Weiand aluminums worked best between 1,500 to 6,000RPM. Appreciate your efforts on providing this manifold!
Their Response:
We're meeting with the foundry on Monday in LA... there are two schools of thought which should get hammered out then: 1) using this 392 Hemi manifold casting as produced for Hot Heads but we'll machine it for the Poly-bolt holes and intake angle... We will then create a valley plate thermostat tower package... As long as the casting has enough meat to machine ala Poly I'm all for that option as it makes it a TRUE air gap and should be dramatically cheaper then option 2) build a Poly specific casting with the water tower and water crossover in the manifold casting as a quasi air gap because the water works prevent it from being a TRUE air gap-there would be heat right at the front of the primaries on the carbs-this manifold would be incredibly more expensive for us to produce due to the complexity of molds, core boxes, machining etc... and we're still prepared to go that route if we have to... we just know the performance numbers for the existing Hot Heads manifold are fabulous! Working rpm?-it’s a true dual plane with medium size ports-so it will work well from 1500 to 6000... Thanks for your support! We're pre-selling these at the good guy price to generate the capital to
move this project... Figure 8-16 weeks for delivery...

I asked:
So I understand, everything needed to run this will be included at the 'good guy price'?
Their response:
That is correct... One of the original design models was that it was to be VERY user friendly!
