I check my pressures regularly and get to take a look at the tires and the surrounding areas at the same time and can see anything that needs attention. With that....well, you know. That's one of the reasons I'm not too crazy about new cars. I usually check things when I'm filling up at the pump.

Pops thanks for posting that, nice simple product... not the most attractive item...LOL... Something similar to that has been around for quite a while now, it's great idea, especially for those that are "not so mobile any longer" or that don't stay current on all the vehicle maintenance issues, like tire pressure changes, in different altitudes & weather condition or a leaky wheel/tire.... if I remember correctly there was something like that, that had an adjustable sensor that you plugged into the cigarette lighter in the interior "I think anyway" & had the actuating sensors on the inside of the rims, under the valve stem, for tubeless tires, on the valve stem for tube type tires or when you didn't want to break down the tires to install sensors & it would have an audible warning tone, when the air pressures were lower than the preset air pressure variables, that you choose, I think you could turn off the alarm & just a red LED would flash also.... I don't remember who made them now, but I had them on an old lifted 66 Power Wagon I had with 35"/Q/78's, that I off-roaded/4 wheeled allot, found them at SEMA probably 10-12 years ago, I no longer own the truck...

Thanks for the heads up on this product Pops, but i have to agree with Bud that I'm not to crazy about the way they look. Maybe they will come up with a better looking, less obvious version of these.
I will say that I absolutely HATE tire pressure monitoring systems. I realize that a lot of the population is too lazy/stupid to routinely check their tires but TPMS seems like a diabolical way of punishing all of us for the stupidity of a few. The worst thing about TPMS (and there are many things) is when the batteries in the sensors go dead and need replacing. They usually last about 8-10 years but once they go dead replacement can be very expensive. You can just ignore the light or put a piece of tape over it but if you are like me, I hate knowing something on one of my cars isn't working properly. I have actually found a way to disable the TPMS on my Prowler online, but you have to take the dash out to do it. Next it's back up cameras and whatever they can think of to require on new cars that can't be fixed by anyone but the dealer. Thanks. Rant over.

close but different brand

That is a great visual idea for tire pressure... i think Budnicks is talking about something like this http://www.jcwhitney.com/sunpro-tire-pressure-monitor-system/p2029697.jcwx?filterid=u0j1
:iamwithstupid: 65affair; Thanks that's pretty damn close too, very similar, but a different brand than the SunPro from JCWhitney, it was only like $89 or $99 too, might have been a special SEMA show price too, not $159 like that SunPro, it was an electronics company that I've used before, like Superchip, Hypertech or Jacobs Automotive or someone else, like I said "I don't really remember now".... sorry it was a decade ago...LOL..
