i recently (yesterday) purchased a ‘64 Fury 426 4 speed convertible. I had a post going in the projects section of the site but had some suggestions it would be better located here so I’m starting a new thread here and will update this one.
I found out about this car about 3 years ago when the same seller had a 63 Max Wedge hardtop for sale that I should have bought but didn’t. I had tried to get a hold of the owner for a couple of years but his e-mail and phone number were no longer active. About a month ago I found an old email on the Ramcharger car that had his address in it. I went old school and mailed him a letter inquiring about the ‘63. A couple days later I received an e-mail from him saying the ‘63 was long gone but he still had his ‘64 Fury Street Wedge 4 Speed convertible. I arranged to go see it again and ended up buying the car. It’s a big project, but I look forward to resurrecting this pretty rare car.
Here are some photos of the car.

I’ll have lots of questions, so hopefully I won’t become too big of a pain.

Congrats to restore such a rare Sport Fury...426 and 4 speed convert. I regret selling my 426 4 spd 64 Belvedere project & also my restored black/red 383 Sport Fury. Your pics makes me want another 4 spd Sport Fury, so maybe once I get the 383 stroker in my 64 rust free Belvedere done, I'll get it sold and find a Sport Fury for sure. I'm looking forward to seeing pics on your resto project.

nice reminds me of the one I got from the orig owner

I saw your thread in the lost and found. Was your car a 4 speed? I was curious about the 1 of 3 comment you made in that thread. Was it related to the Polara or was it related to B body Street Wedge 4 speed convertibles? I was told a similar thing about my car that it was supposedly 1 of 3?

Looks like a great project. Hope it all goes well.

And, love every minute of it!

64, 426, 4-speed, and ragtop to boot! Hell's bells!

hi, no it was a auto my remarks may not have been factual as in passing one day at spring fling I asked galen govier the combo I had which was a 426 sw dual exhaust triple black vert he stated that it was only the 3rd combo like that that he knew about if that was a true statement I'm not sure if it was factual

I was told by the previous owner that a friend of his knows Galen Govier very well. Galen purportedly mentioned while they were talking about the car that he had never seen one equipped like mine before and it could have been 1 of 3 built, but that is all hearsay.
I know it’s an original 426 4 speed convertible. The number built is not going to change me restoring it and enjoying it. I really want to line it up against another car I own. lol

Good luck. I'd never be able to finish a project that complicated. More power to you if you can get it done.
