Just bought this on ebay...its desperately needs some TLC, but I had to have it since I already own a 1974 Plymouth Satellite Sedan. I think they will look sweet parked side by side at the car shows. What do you guys think?

Pretty good deal considering? I talked to the guy on the phone before bidding and he seemed like a nice guy and was pretty honest with his description. Said the pictures make it look better than it is. Definetely needs a repaint, and tires are shot but starts right up, drives and stops like it should. All guages work and all lights work except the dash lights dont illuminate. Going to keep it white, tint the windows, convert it to a 400/727/8.75 and drive the piss out of it.

Thanks, already picking up some parts for it. Noticed one of the reverse lights was broken and it was missing the antenna mast, so just grabbed some NOS ones. Cant wait to pick her up in a couple weeks.

Anyone in the Longview area have a tow dolly I can borrow :p

Great deal! I love old grocery getters, especially when hotted up.

Good looking project. Actually looking at getting a pre-'76 wagon. My parents had a '73 Dodge Polara for decades.
Even the old wagons are getting had to find.

anyone have a source for anywhere I can find a tow hitch to fit this wagon? The idea the wife just gave me was after I get this wagon restored. Load the family and chairs and such in the wagon and use the wagon to tow the 74 sedan to the shows or cruiseins. Sooooo I will be looking for a source for a tow hitch.

It would be pretty easy to have one welded up for it. Or even adapt one for it.

I am not sure about your area, but I have seen shops around that have the name "Hitches By George".

You could do a search and see if they are nation wide.

btw I have friends in Longview; I have been wanting to jump on the bike and go there for a visit.

Sweet, thanks for the reply! I will have to try that. If you ever plan a trip up this way just give me a hollar and stop in for a few brewskis.

congrats on the wagon... i got a 72 plymouth satellite custom wagon that I am putting together now.

very nice! Plans I have for mine are to do as much of the body work I can myself then have it professionally painted spinnaker white. I hate the brown interior so I think I am going to change it to tan, black, or blue. Im leaning towards blue right now as I already have a bunch of interior parts in bright blue sitting on a shelf. I have a 400 and 727 sitting in storage that I am going to transplant into it. Rebuild the suspension and put new rims and tires on it. Have the windows tinted as dark as legally allowed, have a tow hitch installed and 2.5" dual exhaust. We are picking it up in three weeks and I am going to start on that passenger quarter panel and tailgate...those look to be in the worst shape. If you have a restoration thread going, I will keep an eye on it.

Thanks for the pics
Josh

i may start one when i get to the bodywork, but the main hurdles i am finding are locating door panels and a headliner (its the hard particle board stuff). any hits on those items from you?

The last car I restified with this body style I found the door panels at a junk yard in West texas. Then I had them recovered at a upholstery shop. Headliner for the wagon I have no idea. I am hoping that if mine needs one I can just bring to a upholstery shop here in town and see if he can make one up for me. Since I am most likely going the modified route with this car the headliner will not have to be exact...just functional.

Im looking forward to bouncing ideas off you...ill post better pictures of the wagon once I get it home and cleaned up. I know I need to find some armrest screws.

i am going to take pictures of my seats and door panels and email them to legendary auto interiors to see what they can do. I really like the OE route, so I am sure my pocketbook will hate it. :D

Legendary is an awesome company, I use to live about an hour from them when I was up in NY. Their shop is first class all the way. You can probably mail them your stuff, and they will refinish them for a price....and most likely not friendly tothe wallet....but you wont regret the work

Got the car today....and boy it needs work...lol

Here are a couple pictures of the car.
