New Ring and pinion for 741 case

WOW! And it will probably climb a tree too!! That's quite a fit! Looks like you have an "8 pack". I have a buddy that makes bio diesel tanks for people who want to do the conversion and he would like this! What kind of mileage do you get?

With the cold temps. when I can take it out on good roads, 22-24mpg. If I keep it around 60@1750rpm. hoping for 30+ in warm temps. Just need to keep RPM`s in the 1750-1850 range.

Damn;I thought I'd seen some interesting stuff back in my Trades days with The General. That is a very intriguing conversion. With the kind of torque that produces, and the load you plan on putting on it,it seems an o.d. setup would work best to provide some torque multiplication upon take-off and still provide the desired rpm at cruising speed. With a 489 case. Seems you'd be applying a LOT of torque when starting out to everything aft of the engine. What DOES that mill produce in torque?

You also may be obligated to do a tech article on the conversion. I'm sure you've piqued a lot of curiosity. Very innovative;kudos for thinking well out of the box.

As far as money to throw your way...I'd have to check with the banker in the garage. She might object to "her" money going to "another woman". Could be bad juju...

I`m thinking in order to stay on the low budget, I`ll find a complete 8 1/4 rear with gears in the 2.2 to 2.5 range. The OD will cost more I`m sure.
Torque with stock settings on pump and stock turbo, 330+- @ 1750 to 1850.
Can be bumped to around 420 easily.
Keep your money or send it to Haiti, I have too much now. HA
I don`t know about a tech article, but I`ll gladly give a parts list and any advise.
The wagon is perfect because it will haul all of us around to swap meets, camping trips, etc.

No Jake, but I do want to put out some black sooty smoke once in a while!!!
I think people on the road will feel SORRY for me and buy me a meal!

Uh-oh!! Did you say black smoke??!! In California they will call the CARB or 1 800 exhaust http://www.arb.ca.gov/enf/complaints/smoke.htm and have you locked up and the car towed while elitist Berkeley hippies in hybrids give you the finger. Yep, land of the spare the air days and nights where you can't burn fireplace logs during those times or BBQ. Solvent based automotive paint is gone. Cell phones must be hands free. Yep, were sooooo safe from ourselves here :rolling::rolling:

Man... So hard to tell what you CAN do that`s OK. Farting?!
Bring those fr*#!ks to the midwest, and we`ll blow smoke right up their A#!"?!!

Sorry, did I say black smoke?. I meant GREEN!

I'll be danmed----nice.
