New to B Bodies and B Bodies Only

I didn't think Mecum sold "lower end" cars that needed bug removal....no offense. Nice car. Sort it out and have fun.

I have found that you are right. Most of the cars are pretty together. This one was not in the catalog, so it was not done at the photo deadline.

It was not complete at the time of the auction. The alignment had not been set yet, the exhaust system was not tightened down, brakes were messed up, other small electrical stuff.

Sometimes its nice to be able to get a car that is almost done, and finish it the way I want to.

The Mecum experience is pretty good. It is a lot of fun. You should check it out some time even if you don't go to buy.

That's a good point. I wish I could. I just dropped my small bankroll on my car now. I can't even watch the show anymore. I get pissed when I see cars for less money than I paid roll across the block. I guess the labor is what killed me.

Oh well, I did it my way and I like the car. It's super solid and not hacked up by any hillbillies, so it will last till I'm old or get sick of it.

I understand completely. I really enjoy these cars, but do not have the time, space, or complete expertise to build my own. I am pretty good at trouble shooting and fixing some items, just not starting from scratch.

I know what you are saying about not watching the show. You have to get over that. Definitely go to an auction. If anything, you will probably come across some either very original cars, or some that are well restored. I took about 50 pictures of a Challenger I saw there so that I can make some changes to mine.

Let's enjoy the cars and if we can make investments out of them, all the better.
 
You will find that you are never done and that's half the fun. Driving it is the other. With a 40 year old car **** happen. I too had reverse light issues, $ 20.00 switch took care of it, new turn signal cam, side marker lights etc... A little at a time and the next thing you know you stand back look at it and say, yeah that's what I'm talkin about. Not to mention the looks as you roll in anywhere. It is all worth it. Good Luck. There is a wealth of knowledge here as we have been through it or going through it and everyone helps each other that's what I like.
 
Welcome, Y2. Nice stuff you have there. We really like our Grand Cherokee. Might go for an SRT on the next one. The 5.7 is a lot of fun, too.
