I just picked up a 1970 Plymouth Satellite sedan. I know absolutely nothing about mopar either, as I’ve only ever worked on Toyota and GM. Bone stock 318, 904 auto according to the fender tag and my eyes.. lowered by previous owner but not much. Biggest problem is electrical, and power steering leaks. And the brakes pull hard to the left. And where in the world is the dipstick on a 318??? I can’t find it anywhere.
Nice ride. Dipstick should be between the alternator and ac pump or possibly below/beside the alternator. Tube might be there but missing the dipstick? Brakes pulling hard left probably means your front right brake isn't working. Could be the hose is collapsed. I had that exact same issue on my satellite that had sat for probably 2 decades.
Welcome to the site.
The 440s and 426 Hemis get the glory but the 318s and 383 cars were far more plentiful. Same goes with 4 door cars. They used to be laughed at for being hand me down cars we got from our parents but as time wears on, they have become much more cool to drive since they share styling with other great classics.
The '70 B body with a 318 is a very basic and dependable car. Excellent suspension, roomy interior and the mechanical stuff is pretty easy to work on. Electrical problems are common in all old cars, especially in cars that had multiple owners that each did their own repairs. Replacement harnesses are available. My own '70 Charger has the original under dash harness with a few changes and it looks like it could be just a few years old.
Brakes are an easy fix. Any 73-76 Disc brake Dart, Duster or Valiant will have the front disc brakes that bolt right in. The 76 and later Aspen/Volare/Diplomat/LeBaron/Cordoba/Charger/Fifth Avenue cars used similar parts and can work as well.
Welcome!!! More doors are getting way more love all the time an rightfully so!
If you have a problem, first do a search and you will find volumns of info.
Also, join FABO also and there is tons of info also related to the B body's mechanical and electricals!
