Hello all,

Looking to learn more about my Father-in-laws 1964 Dodge Polara. We took possession of the Dodge after his passing. The plan is to restore with some modifications to the suspension and brakes with the intent to make this a nice driver. Will be somewhat of a tribute to him. What I have been able to decipher/learn so far. 4-dr sedan, 318 V8. Trim is L1T and Paint is YY1. The body needs work. Some point it was painted yellow. We are looking forward to the journey this mod/restoration will take us.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Plan (for now). Looking at starting the teardown this fall when the temps get lower here in So Cal
- Complete restoration
-- Exterior return to factory paint (YY1: Champagne Tan??)
-- Interior return to factory (L1T) with hints of red (Father-in-law's favorite color and to pay homage to him)
- Upgrade to disc brakes all around
- Suspension (Either upgrade or restore - still mulling this over)
- Engine Rebuild to either stock or slight modification to improve MPG (HEI and Fuel Injection)
- Transmission gone through

Pics let see how many I can post.

You certainly have your work cut out for you. It's definitely restorable though. Just time and patience!

Btw, do I spy a Jeeper squirreled away in the garage there? :)
