U-Haul has a new trailer for rent.

The Toy Hauler measures in at just over 23 feet long and 8.5 feet wide, providing the trailer with a usable deck of 16 feet. (Drive-over fenders help make the most of the trailer's span, as well.) The 6800-pound load capacity — up from the 5290-lb rating for the standard automotive trailer — should cover most users' needs, while three individual eight-foot ramps at the rear (designed to accommodate three-wheeled motorcycles) make loading straightforward with any vehicle

Looks just like one I rented back in 2007, in Sacramento Sunrise U-Haul

Is that a tilt bed & what's those things next to the surge brake box and jack?

I hauled a 68 GTX home (500 miles) on the old style uhaul trailer 20 plus years ago, there was more car hanging off both ends than on the trailer but it worked I guess, just alittle stressful...took all back roads home.

Looks over-built.

Like their legacy stuff.

Idiot proof and bullet proof. Two prerequisite for dealing with the public. I like it. I went to a U-haul years ago and asked about buying an old one from them. They'll sell trucks, but not trailers.

This article said they would not be selling their old trailers as they were built to last forever and will keep using them.

I never did like the 55 mph limit they impose.....but will a cop give ya a ticket for exceeding it when the speed limit on the road is 70? Ain't no way I'm gonna go 55 in a 70 mph zone when everyone else is doing 75-80! Around here, you'll be a sitting duck.

I've seen exactly ONE ex-U-Haul trailer in private ownership in over 50 years of paying attention to that kind of stuff.

It's either stolen from U-Fall or he was an insider.....I've seen a couple in private hands and they were stolen and painted a different color but it's pretty hard to hide a U-Haul trailer without doing some extensive work to them.

I was told they will not sell them, ever! I found one that said yes and found this just now.

U-Haul trucks are for sale in hundreds of places throughout North America. Any and every U-Haul store would know where the dry trucks are located.

U-Haul trailers are not sold. As each trailer ages by another year the repair maximum is lowered. Once an older trailer can no longer be maintained or repaired for a specific price, it is taken to one of our 175 U-Haul maintenance facility where it is cut in small pieces and the axle is cut in half.

ive been with The Company for 31 years and we’ve always done it this way. As a result, there is never a question about who owns an older U-Haul trailer, we do!

Yes, I was taken aback.

It had no decals but still had the orange stripes and was clearly a U-Haul design. They are very easily identifiable.

ONE in over 50 years.

I brought my GTX home on a trailer like that back in 1997......tandem axle. Checked tyre pressures at a gas station on the way home, and one tyre exploded on the forecourt while filling it.
Sounded like a shotgun going off.

Never seen people run so fast ducking for cover. Made it home on three.
