New wheels and tires

I love the look of big fat tires on steelies with dog dishes. The fact that they are redlines is a huge bonus. I used dodge caps with the red rings on my Plymouth cause i liked the look.
There is a guy in my area with a Studebaker lark with stock looking hubcaps....until you walk around back and see that he has 12" wide steelies with ALL the offset to the inside, and 14" street tires tucked into his tubbs.

I'm gonna' be honest,
I'm usually not a real big fan of body color painted steel wheels
(I like Magnums/Road Wheels {or Rally's on the proper years} at a min. some bling or
better yet nice polished wider sometime bigger diam. 15" min wheels, over OE steely's)
& the poverty/dog dish caps,
especially with narrow OE style wheels & bias tire
but;
that looks good or much better IMO, than normal
fills the wheel wells, much better, as normal you car looks nice

like the Redlines sets it off too, that also helps the look

wheels & tires are such a personal choice, to each their own
I like some bling, day 2 look, I always have

When I said that I was going to do this, if someone told me that I'd spend 2 1/2 grand, I would have said hat they were way off on their estimate.

It's real easy to spend a whole lot of money on wheels and tires now, especially on a real fast car.
Double beadlocks run $500-1000 each, the fronts can run $300-400 each if they are real light. $200 a piece front tires, $250-400 for rear tires, and where are we? Sounds like $2500-5000.
A well-known local hellcat/demon racer put a set of forgeline wheels on his hellcat, cause they were forged, stronger than the factory wheels. He says he bought the cheaper ones, they were only five grand for a set of four, not counting the drag radials on them.

Thanks Bud man. On the other hand, the same tire/wheel combination just wouldn't look as good on the green car.

Got the car outside this afternoon & took it for a spin....

When I bought my Satty droptop, it had the original 14" rims with the dog dish caps. If they were 15's, I might have just kept them and had them painted body color. Instead, I put on Rallyes, 15x7" front, with 235-60-15s and 15x8" rear with 255-60-15s. "Only" cost me about $1500 including the trim rings and center caps. I saved a couple of hundred going with the Cooper Cobra's over the BF T/A's. What RC said about the cost of restoration is spot on. Here's the before and after pics.

Love that look , I was very fortunate a great member sold me two very excellent caps at a very reasonable price he's old and has a bee .
Those caps are hard to find and the red walls ain't cheap but look cool like old hot wheels .

I have never been a fan of the dog dish hubcap look,or any hubcap for that matter. But I guess it is a matter of preference. When the cars were new,the Cragars,Slots or Torque Thrust wheels were on within the first week of ownership, and those were the winter wheels here in New England. Most people pitched to factory steel wheels, thats why original steel wheels cost so much money these days. The Bullitt Charger R / T with the hubcaps flying off on every corner is enough for me to say no thanks to them.

Love the look RC and you got a great deal on those center caps! The wheels and tires are very well proportioned to the car and in my opinion, enhance the beauty of the car without distracting from it.

Still,$2600 canadian is $1950 us, so for five-$390 ea. If thats m$b, thats a good deal. $375 for what i need, not including shipping or m&b. Summit wants over $400 each, and it's not even the right brand.

Finally got the 15 x 8's painted to match. 255/60-15's all around.

I decides to take off the magnums & go for a different look.....

The wheels are 15 X 8 in the rear & 15 X 7 in the fronts. Tires are 235/70 for the front & 275/60 for the rear.
