I'm lazy so I'm copying and pasting this from another Charger site:

So I figured I might as well introduce myself as I will be hanging around here for awhile. A member on a different Charger board suggested a few classic Charger sites and this was one of them.

So first off name's Andy and I broke away from the family mold and started buy all sorts of Ford products. Growing up if it wasn't under the Chrysler Pentastar it never graced our driveway;

Dad - 60 something New Yorker, 1974 Charger SE Brougham, 80 something Laser, 85 Dakota, 93 Dakota, 97 Ram 1500, 2002 Stratus, 2005 Pacifica, 2008 Charger (took him 34 years to get back in a Charger)

Mom - ?? Cordoba, Chrysler 600, garbage Eagle Summit, Intrepid, Durango, 2001 Sebring Vert, 2005 Sebring Vert.

For awhile we owned an early 90's Stealth as a run about. I talked my dad into buying a 97 Chevy S10 to tow our boat. Well the Stealth got sold 'cause I was starting to drive and mom didn't want a sports car on the policy and then he picked up the Pacifica to tow the boat which left me with the S10.

Traded that for an '02 Mustang (isn't that a sports car?). Graduated high school, then Tech and started working - wow I have money and a nice car, I need an all weather beater.

Enter a '98 Explorer Sport - dumped that for a '99 of the same and really screwed it up off-roading. Sold it for a '97 F150 - I got hit by an Acura, sold that one and bought an '03 F150.

OK now I'm stable - oh hey lookie a vintage Mustang. I want it. Hey mom? - NO! - please? - NO! - ok fine - Uncle Mike? SURE!!!

What the heck was I thinking?

So here I am now asking about Chargers since I'll be trading the '70 Mustang for a '71 Charger of much better condition.

Me personally my hobbies are cars, computers, electronics, car audio - that's pretty much it. Funny thing I hated working on cars growing up - I'd see my dad's with black hands from brake dust, oil, etc. - now it's mom telling me to wash outside.

Soon to be:

Welcome

So why did you make you handle MustangAndy instead of ChargerAndy?

From here it looks like the Mustang is in better shape.

Steve (I'm just a nosy bastard)

Thank you all

Trust me if that was the Stang in question I wouldn't be here.

I'm a Ford guy(Check Sig) That red one is a '69 Mach 1 and it's owned by the guy I'm getting said Charger from. He needs parts to finish his '69 - I need a better project. Done deal.

This is my '70 that I'm trading off - It's rotting along the whole bottom on both sides(See picture 2). The PO to the guy I bought if from was trying to make it a drag car - Vac sytem has been gutted, no thermostat, no fan shroud, shackled rear, had lake pipes when i got it, it's an electrical NIGHTMARE etc. etc.

Just givin ya a bit of grief. I've had a 69 MACH 4 speed car (black) and a 70 MACH 4 speed car (orange) as well

Well brand new mine was Calypso Red - then somebody decided to do quick spray with some kind of paint. Got a nice fade going on from top to bottom:

At least it's better than Camaro Andy! I had a 68 Mustang GT J code 4spd coupe and my current back up/parts hauler is a 71 Ranchero 500 with a 351C and a Shaker.

Welcome to the MoPar family.

Thanks.

I have no love for GM - I pity my brother's V6 Firebird at times since the hood is always up.

Sounds like a real mover of a Mustang. Same for your Ranchero. Going back to Dodge products, I remember checking out a Rampage when I was looking for my first car - the real deal breaker was all the rust.

My Mustang was peppy but nothing earth shattering. I did have to teach an El Camino a lesson once. Long story short, we raced from a roll and I put it in first gear at 50 MPH to get a jump on him and then held him through the rest of the gears. I'm convinced you can't blow up a small block Ford!!

welcome,i've owned a 70 mustang that wasn't to bad of a ruuner.
