Newbie from Northern Wisconsin

Hey!

Currently restoring my high school sweetheart. My 1970 Roadrunner 383 Auto. I bought the car in my 12th grade year of 1986 from a local for $1800. I joined the Army and stored the car for 20 years. I finally got a slice of motivation to get it going. My wife is quite handy at fixing things so she is helping me as well.

She got it running and I invested in new air tools. Wisconsin winters didn't do much for the sheetmetal as I've replace the entire interior floor pan and rebuilt the frame rails that were rotted. Ordered new doors, quarters, trunk pan, extensions, and wheel housings. I just can't believe how much rot I'm finding!

Everything is being done one piece at a time to make sure we do it right. If I'm allowed to post pics, I'll throw a few up.

Great car - and an Air Grabber, too! I think the Air Grabber was the coolest hood Detroit ever produced. I had one on my '70 GTX in HS, too. Welcome from a fellow Wisconsinite!

Thanks! I do love that Air Grabber. I found this car is someones backyard with grass growing up around it. Hadn't been driven in a few years. The owner wouldn't sell it to me since I was only 17 years old. Said I would kill myself in it. I had to get my brother to buy it but it still took the owner a month to part with it. That was in 1986.

I found the original owner recently and told him I still have the car. He was in tears. He said he loved it so much but he had bills to pay. He bought it brand new when he came back from Vietnam. I told him once it is finished, he gets the maiden voyage.
