i know its not a b body, this is my 83 d150 stepside, i'm cloning it into a midnite express truck, i 2 weeks ago i dropped in a 78 original lil red express 360, that i had rebuilt to the balls, it dyno'd at 393hp, and 417 torque with headers and a 750 holley, i'm running a 650, and stock manifolds only because my exhaust is brand new from front to back, and i would cry if i cut it up for headers, backed by an 883 out of a road runner, and a dana 60 rear, i just painted the truck over the weekend, and it turned out surprisingly well for an outdoor paint job, with a $27 gallon of black rustoleum, the trick is to double the thinner on the last coat, it leaves an unbelievable shine, with no clearcoat, or hardener, the bottom picture is a factory midnite express, which is what my truck will look like in a few weeks, now i'm looking for a set of wheels and tires, i'd like the cheesy chrome slots that came on them from the factory, but cant find any, anyone got any cragars, welds, centerlines, keystones, telstars, or other that they want to sell in the georgia area ?

Looking good always like the step sides, great job, good luck on finding your wheels:yes:

you wouln't believe this, i was standing outside the restaurant my sister works at talking on my cell, talking to my dad about trying to find original express wheels for the truck, i look down, and stairing me right in the face is a set of chrome slotted wheels, i almost **** myself, the DJ that was playing at the restaurant has an 82 dodge conversion van that came with the identical western chrome slotted wheels from place that did the conversions, they're even 4.5 bolt pattern, so i talked to him, he said he only uses the van to hall his equipment, and it sits in his barn the rest of the time, and if i find him a decent set of wheels and pay to have them changed out i can have the chrome slots for nothing, and they're in great shape, hows that for a kick in the ***, i've been searching for them for 6 months

update on the truck

i spent about 4 hours polishing the grill, and painted the headlight bezels black to match the truck, and put the mirrors back on it, still dont believe how the paint came out, the truck is covered with dust, and i can still see myself taking the picture clear as day in the rear fender

Great score on the wheels, I was thinking about your truck today when I saw some on craigslist. Good for you ! looks like a god wink. best wishes!

truck update

my buddy tom finished my oak sidewood today, it looks great, i still have to drill the holes and bolt it on, the cheapest i could find the wood kit was $295, tom did it for $100, and it looks better than the real thing

stacks

i actualy bought a set of patriots from summit, but they looked really cheap and crappy when i took them out of the box, so i guess i'll just have to spend the $1800 for the real stacks, hopefuly have them in the near future, took her to her first car show last week, had alot of attention, no one down here ever heard of a "black lil red express" before, but then again everyone down here is a chevy lover, there was only one other mopar at the show, a 69 roadrunner that parked right next to me
