NFL Is Here!!! Let The Smack Commence!

OK anyone see the latest Rex Ryan fiasco?? How that guy still has a job is beyond me

Both Rex and Rob Ryan are an embarrassment to the league and to their respective teams. Buddy must be so proud of them.
By the way, Rex's new tatoo looks like it was done by a third grader.

OK anyone see the latest Rex Ryan fiasco?? How that guy still has a job is beyond me

No !! maybe !! I don't know !!...LOL... what's he done now ?? can you elaborate a little ??

Apparently ole Rex was on vacation in the Bahamas (since he's not busy in the playoffs or anything) and was seen and photographed sporting a new tattoo of his wife on his right arm. She's depicted wearing a Mark Sanchez jersey and nothing else. Just get on google news and type Rex Ryan, there are several fresh stories and photos. Weird is the only way I can describe the whole thing.
Now some in the sports press are speculating that the tattoo may be fake and that good ole Rex may have done it just to punk the press. Real funny Rex.

Smitty;if that's the case, props to Rex-I think. Provides a distraction from the Jets woes and the whole Sanchez/Tebow situation. Haven't seen his wife(yes;I'll go look...),so I can't comment on how she looks in a Marky jersey.

Interestingly...In the Detroit area, there were a LOT of calls to draft Sanchez instead of Stafford. Frankly,I don't think it would have mattered;Stafford has not been surrounded by the greatest of talent, but neither has Sanchez.

Well Al, you are right about the Jets. They could certainly use a distraction. I don't think either Sanchez or Tebow have gotten a fair shake from Ryan or the Jets organization. Why did the Jets go after Tebow if they weren't going to give him a chance to start and run his style of offense. If they got Tebow just to light a fire under Sanchez, well that didn't seem to help. Sanchez looked pretty good at times when they first got him but now he needs a better offensive line and a better running game to help him out. Maybe they could have traded for a couple of good guys on their Oline instead of spending the $ on Tebow. JMHO.
By the way, Rex's wife isn't a bad looking woman, but that's another subject.

Looks like Andy Reid is going to the Chiefs. There's some talent in place already;maybe he and Pioli can turn that once-proud franchise around.

Just went to the Raiders website looking for who they selected as the new coordinators, and found this:

Senior Bowl Announces 2013 NFL Coaching Staffs

Raiders and Lions selected to head up South and North squads for the Senior Bowl which takes place January 26 in Mobile, Alabama.

Mobile, AL. (Jan. 3)— While most eyes will be on the talented athletes and future NFL stars racing up and down the field at the 2013 Senior Bowl, the matchup on the sidelines will be worth watching, too. The senior showcase event will feature a coach who is no stranger to the Senior Bowl matching up with a rookie NFL head coach.

Jim Schwartz and the Detroit Lions staff will face Dennis Allen and the Oakland Raiders staff in the Senior Bowl later this month, it was announced today. Schwartz and his staff will lead the South squad in Mobile, while Allen and the Raiders’ staff will coach the North.

“The Senior Bowl is fortunate to have the Detroit Lions and Oakland Raiders as our coaching staffs this year,” said Senior Bowl Executive Director Phil Savage. “Both organizations really wanted to be here and will do a great job of coaching both of our outstanding rosters.”

Schwartz, who has led the Lions the past four seasons, coached the North squad to a 31-13 victory in 2010. He said he embraces the chance to coach again at the Senior Bowl.

"I think there is some insight involved in getting to know those guys over a course of the week,” Schwartz said. “And it can confirm some of our scouts' evaluations that have already worked very long and hard into getting guys evaluated this fall season. It can also maybe give us a different perspective on some other guys. Maybe we get a little bit more time with some other guys."

Schwartz also coached at the Senior Bowl in 2006, as the defensive coordinator with the Tennessee Titans.

This season, Schwartz’s Lions suffered a setback (4-12) after improving their record his first three seasons in the Motor City, culminating with the organization’s first playoff appearance in 12 years during the 2011 season.

Schwartz became the first Lions head coach since Buddy Parker (1951-53) to improve the team’s record in each of his first three seasons as head coach.

Schwartz, 46, brings a unique blend of coaching and player personnel experience to the Senior Bowl. Having spent the past 19 seasons in the NFL—16 years as a coach and three in player personnel— Schwartz worked his way up from an entry-level football operations position with the Cleveland Browns in 1993 to being named the Lions head coach on January 16, 2009.

“Jim Schwartz is a personal friend.” Savage said, “I know how important the Senior Bowl is in his eyes, while Dennis Allen is one of the up-and-coming young head coaches in the professional game.”

Allen, 40, made his NFL head coaching debut with the Raiders (4-12) this season. He has never coached in the Senior Bowl, even as an assistant. He is the NFL’s youngest head coach -- more than six months younger than Pittsburgh’s Mike Tomlin -- but has 17 years of combined coaching experience at the collegiate and professional levels.

"It's a great opportunity for the Raiders,” Allen said of coaching the Senior Bowl. “It gives us a chance to get a solid evaluation on these players. We get a better feel on them because we see them in meetings, we work with them in practice, and we can determine whether their personality would fit well in our locker room. It's an opportunity to get an in-depth feel on a lot of those guys."

Six times during his 10 years as an NFL assistant, Allen’s team earned a playoff berth: 2002, 2004, 2006, 2009, 2010 and 2011. Four of those trips to the postseason came after division championships: The NFC South with Atlanta in 2004 and New Orleans in both 2006 and 2009, and the AFC West with Denver in 2011, where he served as the defensive coordinator.

His resumé also includes football’s ultimate prize, a Super Bowl XLIV ring he earned by helping the Saints beat Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts to conclude the 2009 season.

This will mark the ninth time the Lions have coached in the Senior Bowl, going 1-6-1 in its previous eight games. The only victory was under Schwartz in 2010.

The Raiders have coached three previous times at the Senior Bowl, going 0-3. Lane Kiffin led Oakland in its last trip to Mobile, coaching the North in a 17-16 loss in 2008.

The 2013 Senior Bowl is scheduled for 3pm (CT) on Saturday, January 26th in Mobile’s Ladd-Peebles Stadium. The game and all practices will be televised by NFL Network.

Pretty much looks like Chip Kelly is going to the NFL, Cleveland Browns are supposedly near/close to a 4 year deal, he is still going to the Buffalo Bills & Philly Eagles for more interviews 1st.... I'm sad for my beloved Oregon Ducks, if Chip Kelly goes to the NFL, it looks like it may be, the UO Ducks O/C {his name eludes me at the moment} or Defense Co. Alliota {spelling?} are 2 candidates for newly "possibly, vacated" head coaching position... it's all just speculation at this point thou... if he goes to the NFL &/or the Browns watch out AFC North, you will have a fast pace & potentially, high scoring offensive "opportunity", that is if they can get the proper personnel to fit his "defensive eating" system, keeping the opponents on their heals, gasping for air, with his fast paced, no huddle spread/zone or even triple option offense, he runs now at Univ. of Oregon...

Too bad it's not a little colder in GB. A small blizzard would be nice too.:snow_plow_oz:

Oregon oc coord already has the job and I told ya first on the Browns...LOL
McCoy ( spelling?) had already been told the new coach likes him for the starter and the Browns already have the GM in mind to work with him.

Pioli was fired as well so he will be open for a new job too. He never got it going in KC ... Cassell was his downfall... It was the team/talent in NE that made him look good and the head coach..

It has to be a joke or he lost a bet... of its not he had it done in the first year or two of coaching them but we would have seen it by now.... Has to be a joke.... and an extremely poor one if it is.

The team is horrible and he is the 100% blame for it. His undisciplined way of coaching, running his mouth, trickled down through the team and they acted the same way... You don’t win in this league as individuals on a team you win as teammates and the Jets were one undisclosed locker room story after another all season and the one person to blame is the head coach. He reaped what he sowed and how he still has a job is so freaking incredible all I can do is laugh as the Jets will suck again next year. They needed to clean house to save face.. didn’t happen they are the drunken Namath accosting Suzie Kolber on Nat TV laughing stock of the league now and Rexys tat real or not is icing on the cake.

makes me happy, the AFC east isnt gong to be challenged or taken from the Pats for a long time...LOL

Go ahead and gloat, Packers.......the Vikes starting QB was broken, and a highschool team's QB could have done better than Webb!
