no pedal!!!

I have 71 satellite .. disc on front and drums on rear ... I bled them removed air .. I started car and push brake pedal down .. and pedal won't come back up unless I manually pull up with my hand .. what to do? What to look for?

Is there a spring attached to the pedal under the dash?

Ok my 67 has one...that's why I asked. Are you sure you don't have air in the master cyl?

Other than disc front and drum rear do you have power brakes? If yes which braking system does your car have? Bendix, Kelly hays, Willwood or other. Then we will be able to determine what equipment you barking system should have and sudjest solutions.

Also are the parts new? Master . And Brake booster?
Did you bench bleed master if it is new?

Master pistons/spring should bring your pedal back up. Sounds like the master's 'guts' are hanging up.

I haven't bled the master cylinder .. and yes its new according to previous owner I need to see what company it is .. so bench bleed master cylinder I shall do!!

I have the same issue with a new/reman master cylinder I have on my 71 Charger. Power Front Disc, Rear drum, all air bled. Brakes work fine and sometimes the pedal returns on it's own, and sometimes I have to pull it up. I was thinking I needed a new Power Brake Booster.

If the car was converted from manual to power disc brakes, there should be a spring in the pedal assembly to pull the pedal back. Some people have added the power brake block and didn't install the spring. If you have power brakes, you should have a spring in there to help pull the pedal back. Here are a couple pictures of what it should look like. (only if you have power brakes) This is from a 68 but I would think the 71 should be the same or similar.

You're missing a linkage in there too...hmmm I think I may have a linkage and spring in a box somewhere...

Need to bleed the master. None of my 71's have a spring and work fine.

Get an assorted mix of springs and find the right one by trial and error... Check for any interfearance
