Non-Mopar but a truck I build just sold

I didn't think they rusted anymore than Ford or Dodge which I owned a lot of too.
A few buddies had Fords. I bought my first new Dodge in 78, traded that GMC in on it. I had numerous 78 through 93 Dodge pickups and a few Internationals. Couldn’t really speak for the Fords, but that GM and those IH were rust buckets.

Back in my electrical contracting days I had every year of Chevy square body from 1973 to 1983 all at the same time. All work trucks that got the **** beat out of them.
Had a 79 GMC that was loaded up and had a 14-bolt with 4.56 locker from the factory.
Had a 79 Chevy short bed 4x4 with smogged up 230 6-cyl 4-spd. That had to be the most gutless vehicle I've ever owned which I've owned a lot.
Back when I was an apprentice, a friend of mine (Electrical Contractor) was running a GMC long wheel base with a 454 in it. He would do huge burnouts up my street in it when he dropped me off from jobs. My father thought he was a hood.

Very nice and well done!!

Nice Truck. I had a friend that built those many years back SOLELY Chevy short bed Trucks.. Bought the beds from down south and did the rest.. He would have a fortune selling them today as he did 2-3 a year for 10 plus years out of his garage..

The first vehicle I got to drive in, 10 years old on the farm. 73 GMC 1/2 ton 2wd 454. Was pretty docile to drive until you floored it. Left an impression on a young mind. Also dad driving it and pushing that brick past 100 mph with the speedometer rounding almost back to zero.

I guess I gave mine away in 02... $7K
