Let me try again. While I currently am not involved with a B body my experience with them started back in 1973 when I (foolishly) got rid of my 65 GTO and bought a 73 Challenger 340, 4bb, Pistol Grip 4sp, dual exhaust. What I wouldn't give to have both those cars back. My current involvement with MOPAR is a tiny 5 year old Dodge 367ci Ernie Elliott Sprint cup motor we stuffed into this 1958 Nash Metropolitan to make a bid for the C/GCC class at Bonneville Salt Flats. Bob Merickle and I built this car from the ground up in exactly 2-1/2 months. Motor makes 900hp@9k rpm. We finished the car and painted the nose on Thurs. morning, loaded it on the trailer and headed to B'ville. That whole week is a story in itself but we managed by weeks end to break a 14 year old record at 262mph. I recently retired from a very successful 20 year NASCAR short track stock car career with 60 feature wins and 2 track championships. So far, with the exception of this past week at B'ville where the track was too wet to get any good runs, the car has broken the world record at every single venue we have taken it. Our goal is 300mph with it. After many outings with it I realized Bob is getting all the credit for the car so I decided I would try for a land speed record myself with my 1962 Harley Davidson XR1327. I sold the racecar to partially fund the program (LSR racing is expensive). I plan on taking the ECTA MPS/PG 1350 class record. The bike is very valuable with its vintage history, rare parts and uniqueness. It has an all aluminum 1327cc engine with Sputhe XR style heads. Makes about 100hp and only weighs 360lbs.
You've seen the bike motor above. Here is the chassis:
And here is the Dodge powered World's Fastest Nash Metropolitan:
