Was an excellant cam back in the early 70's used one in my 440 sat. Ran 13.2 at 4500 ft with Old tranchla, 850 holley. 2" headers and 4.56 gears. All built from a direct connection scat pack pamphlet. This was mopars cam before the purple shafts came out. This cam speced close to the p4120231 (284) cam. Loved the cam... Still have it in a box.

Not sure of this is good info but seems from this that someone is making the cams again http://www.4secondsflat.com/RB Cam Specs.htm I don't see SSH-25 in there but I have seen it somewhere on the net.

I'd be interested in the cam for cheap but you have zero credibility at this point. This is your first post and we have had some recent issues with new members joining just to sell stuff.

As far as I know the Racer Brown co was bought out after he passed away by coworker named Jim. He moved production equipment and business to Baltimore area. As you can see the box is original and I'm hoping someone can put it to use. From what I have read the Original Racer brown was a wizard when it came to grinding camshafts he supposedly ground a lot of Chryslers cams back in the day.

Meep, the cam is on the 4.senconds flat chart. It is the ss-h-25 number. H is for hydraulic.

.485 lift with 1.5 rockers and 238 @ .050 duration. Probably work great for someone with stock iron heads. I'm almost tempted to buy it just to hoard it for a future project.

Racer Brown Cams Is Located In Baltimore As We Speak! Know For A Fact!

Yeah Jim Dowel is the cam guru....he does all the grinds himself after hours.
I don't understand why more mopar guys don't go to Jim .Forget these other brands ...he knows his sh@t & mopar and has for decades! Jmo.

Maybe I missed it but I don't see how much you want for the cam. And how big is your wife? I doubt my wife could tell me to sell my '69 RR and then see it happen. She's bigger than me but hasn't crossed that line (yet). Just kidding with you.... RB

Dammit, that was what I was thinking too!

Mike

Sorry to say it RB but my wife's only 4' 11 but that's why I'm married for 38 yrs. As far as the prices for the cam I'm hoping you guys will figure that out for me! Don't think there is another one of these around for sale so it's hard for me to price it!

Any idea of about what you want for it?

Probably a bit more ...considering this thread is 3 years old!

Hello Boz

Yes i still have the Racer Brown camshaft on my shelf. Sorry have not visited this site in a while no play toys at this time. I was wondering what you thought its worth. Its not something you cant find at your local auto parts store or nos store. Tim

the racer brown ssh-25 could be considered the forerunner of the mopar 284-.484. they are nearly identical.
